Flying flags

I have been to 2 beautiful coastal sites recently and have seen very long poles with things like a blow up minion attached, strange lurid coloured fish and other assorted objects. Those behind the flyers have stunning natural beauty spoilt by these ugly
flags. I can see no reason for these and I am concerned that the cc is seen as irresponsible in allowing such visual ugliness in areas of outstanding natural beauty. Rallies with lanterns and such like can be fun and well managed but random flying is intrusive
to others and not a good advert for ourselves or our club.

Hope you've got a tin hat handy!

Personally, I'm not a fan but appreciate that people have choices. Surely the old days of pomposity about how CC is seen are long gone. Any organisation that associates itself with COTY and allows its Chairman to publicly make an ass of himself isn't going to worry about a few bright coloured flying things.

As are around ten million other things that are banged on about on this forum on a frequent basis!

If people are going to wear tin hats on site I'm getting out my pith helmet!

This is a much discussed topic, with threads started quite regularly.  Here is a fairly recent one.

In view of the fact that we already have a discussion on this topic, I'm going to close this one.
