Tenby to Penblewyn roundabout. Up to Cardigan, through Aberystwyth, Dolgellau, Festininog and Betws. Most roads by pss the towns. All A roads travelled extensively by buses and HGV. Excellent roads here in Wales.Allow plenty of tines foe sightseeing.,coffee
    stops etc.

    festininog. ?

you sure that's best way, I would have thought it best to stay on coastal route from dolgellau up to caernarvon (spellin) ??

As someone living here no problem with Ffestiniog. If you really prefer can go down fromTrawsfynydd to the junction for Tan y Grisiau, coming out at the roundabout just past Ffestiniog. Wonder what you are pulling. If Mansel Davies tankers can use the route
    any caravaner surely can.

I agree its passable no problem just thought it easier considering we don't know the op or what his rig is to go via porthmadog but having looked on map it is much further than your route on that basis I concur

Superb stock answer, but so so true. "If Mansel Davies tankers ......"
