Broadway Site

We have stayed at Broadway a couple of times. on our travels down south. It is a standard CC site. No views except that of other caravans. The site was always maintained to CC standards. Easy walk into the town. Gravel hard standing pitches. It was just
another CC site, nothing to write home about. .It is a good base to tour the surrounding area.
Don't know what else people are expecting.

Write your comments here... Where do get "no views" as.there are good views of the sarounding area from most of the pitches on the old part of the site

We have just spent a few days at Broadway and were happy with the site.
I noticed that the hedges had been cut while we were out the other day and one of the wardens was out spraying some of the gravel along the road next to the hard standings.
My only complaint is that a rabbit chewed my aerial cable.

Perhaps the OP would like to join in.

Grass not cut for 3 weeks?!! I can't believe that - wellingtons would be required this year with its huge growth pattern.
It was pretty long!
But as I said, I don't particularly mind, if it saves money and this is passed onto the members in lower site fees.....but it isn't.

OK. I have not commented before as was still away and had no WiFi? So my comment was only asking if others had noticed anything is is there new wardens etc. We always stay on the top section and noticed that the pitches were very weedy. No I did not
mention to the wardens as they do not work for me. It was not a huge problem it was just an observation and after the pots I had seen about the site "for sale" I wondered if there was anything else going on. I did not intend to start an argument or a debate
but just a polite question?0 -
"I did not mention to the wardens as they do not work for me."
I think that's debateable. Surely the members are the Club? I saw somewhere that, in the event of the Club becoming insolvent, each member is liable to the sum of £1.
You have every right to mention it to the wardens and if something bothers us enough to raise the matter on here, it really should be dealt with at source.

Once again Tinners......are you really suggesting that a member, on their holiday, should point out to the warden staff that they haven't cut the grass for a good while?
I tend to think that they must know that and are simply following a directive from Grimstead Towers.

members should always point out to the wardens anything about the site they are not happy about, you are paying for your stay so why not?
Also how else can the wardens put things right unless they know, even if it is clear to you (or to one). Yes in this case as you say they might following a directive but if enough people mention it then the poeple higher up might take notice.

That is what has been noticed by "staff" who only find out about negative problems that affect the "experience"of "campers"on sites they will not mention it to on site staff personally ,but in the following methods
1 Site comments book with no name
2 Via EGH
3 On here hoping to get some backup to make themselves feel good
Ps the above is prevalant across all parts of the leisure industry

My God you lot really do not understand the difference between a comment and a complaint. As I stated it was not really an issue just an observation. If there had been a problem (like at Little Hampton with none working internet) I would have spoken to
the wardens. My internet issue was sorted very efficiently by the very helpful wardens there. I feel that you cannot say anything on here anymore without the same people jumping in and having a go. I thought this forum was about having a conversation with
other caravaners.0 -
To be really effective those areas to be sprayed should be dry, remain rain free for a period after, in strong growth with virtually still wind conditions. Best done I guess with no cars, caravans, awnings, people, pets on them. Given this there must be folk out there just despareate for the 'right' conditions and opportunity to be up and at 'em (weeds I mean), at this time and cursing as they are prevented from doing so for a variety of reasons. I know, cos my drive needs doing right now. Also, from past experience, spraying only gets those weeds that are green and growing strongly, the little blighters waiting in dormant seeds in the gravel won't be effected by the concoction and will soon be showing again soon after. It's a constant battle that goes on with only relative short periods of ecstatic happiness for me! Best to wait until they (the weeds) are showing relatively well but before setting seed before hitting 'em again as dosing the area too frequently with that poison, which is pretty strong stuff, and does find its way into and linger in the water courses of our beautiful countryside to the detriment of aquatic life forms there in. Getting the job done effectively probably ain't as easy as some may think it is or as they wish it to be.
I hope this adds to the conversation!
