We were here for four nights last week and i must say what a beautifully kept site , its only small ,but the grass is like a bowling green (a sloping one) the facilities were absolutely pristine , with a very friendly lady warden on reception ,its noisy
because its next to the a66 but a great site for visiting the beautifull surrounding area , well done wardens we had a lovely break and it was only  about £18 a night cheers mrs bc

I agree lovely site If you can live with noise. However if you're going back to the A1 via Scotch Corner when you leave good look with trying to get back on to the A66.

We stayed there 2 years ago and also thought it was a lovely site. We chose a pitch near the bottom end of the site and weren't worried with noise.  I understand that the toilet block has been improved as well. It is a great site for exploring the dales
and also Barnard Castle. Lovely views.

We only has a one night stop over, but agree the site was good, really liked what we managed to see of the area too.

We did make the mistake of pitching towards the top of the site, but as it was for only one night, we survived. Laughing
