Bottle bins on site

On our current site (and many others we've been on) they used to have a crate sat by the bins, into which people placed their empty bottles.

Now they have a wheelie bin for them.

From the noise made by some people depositing their empties, I reckon some people must use an over-arm action to do it. Or maybe they toss them in from some distance away?

Either way, their goal must be to do it as loudly as they possibly can.

Have a thought for others, folks.

Can't agree more. We had this at Broadway. The early morning 'chuckers' were really annoying, completely thoughless.

Personally I lower them in if late at night,  (never leave them till morning) however would agree others are not as considerate, you can often hear the sound of smashing from the other side of the site. Probably not as important in the morning, on quite
a few sites we have been on the contractors empty the bins at about 7pm and that makes a horrendous noise.

such disgraceful behaviour, another reason not to use club sites, I always make sure I'll well away from the water and bins.

Don't forget to mention it in the comments book

So you're saying they go up to the bin, open it, walk some distance away then toss it in? This could be a new spot on COTY

But is it Caravanners of the CC who are practicing flinging bottles from a distance. .Or someone else ?

Could it possibly be football fans practicing their aim for their next trip to Euro 2016. .

Thats if their team has not been kicked out of the competition.Wink

Breaking bottles on a CC site is noisy and antisocial. Would be much better to have a series of milk crates that caravaners can slip their empties into.

Broken glass containers take up less space and allow more to fit in, so breaking the glass is a good thing. The large skips for collecting glass have a fitment just below the insertion point to shatter the container.

The days of glass containers going into crates to be returned for reuse are long gone.

If the campers in the uk consume  anywhere near as much as the ones over here get through, it will need more than a wheelie bin for the emptiesWink when
we were in Cambrils they empty the big containers at 04.30 i kid you not.

Not had the problem so far this year but not pitched near a container. Will make a note to find them and go as far away as possible.
