Good morning,

I am new to the Caravan Club along with my partner Nigel.  We have a Mercedes Vito Campervan.  I am treating him to a ticket to see Ennio Morricone on 23/6 for his birthday and we're staying at Bladon Chains site for one night.

We live in Derbyshire and fancy seeing a few other sites from Fri-Mon.. can anyone recommend any sites/places to visit around the Oxfordshire area or anywhere on our way back towards Derbyshire?  We don't have any children and our dog won't be with us on
this occassion.. We like oldy/wordly/scenic/real ale/wintage cider type of places that do a nice steak etc... any thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.  We haven't recieved the booklet yet as we only joined up yesterday

Cheers

Lisa and Nigel :)

Hello Lisa and Nigel and welcome to the Club and, more particularly to Club Together.  Hope you enjoy your trip to see Ennio Morricone.  Jealous? Mwah?  Sad

Hi Lisa & Nigel - since you're obviously fairly mobile, you could go to Burford from Bladon Chains - lots of interest around there including the Cotswold Wildlife Park just across the road and a great pub at Shilton just over the cross roads from the site
and about a mile down the road. Then you could move on to Moreton in Marsh or Broadway and spend a couple of days in typical Cotswold countryside before making your way home. (I'm assuming you're looking at CC sites, of course!)

Happy. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Enjoy Bladon Chains / Blenheim. You could add a day or two to explore Blenheim, the CC receipt gets a massive discount on the ticket price that is a free upgrade to an annual pass.

We spent the last Bank Holiday there, and I wrote a story on it in the 'Your Stories' section. http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/community/your-stories/KeefySher/Cub-Camp--Beautiful-Bladon-Chains-amp-Blenheim/rb/1487393/

You could pop down to Henley, and partake a winery tour at Old Luxtors in the Hambleden valley. http://www.oldluxtersbarn.co.uk Henley should be getting ready for the Regatta.
