September the wife and l are visiting Freshwater East which we first visited  way back in the eighties, l suppose we wil be remembering the times we used to have their with our Daughter, won't tell you her age other wise you will know ours LOL. Back to the real reason for this  post l am thinking of doing the coast road for a stop over at Shawsmead CC which is about 150 mile, we live in Cheshire, it will leave about 80 mile or so to do to Freshwater East. Anyone done this route The other option is to do M6, M5 and M50 stop over at Tewksbury, we have used this route but if memory serves me right its a bit longer. Any suggestions which is the better route, l suppose the coast road will be more pretty

Yes, that route is doable, a very scenic one. Follow the A487 to Cardigan, take the A478 to the roundabout with the A40, turn right for Haverfordwest, straight on at the next roundabout then left at the next, should be signposted Oakwood and Carew. Continue
    to join A477 to Pembroke.

Just follow a Mansel Daviesn tanker. You are quite likely to meet/follow a dozen on the trip.

We probably have the best roads in the UK. but without pavements. That why we locals get het up about visitors wanting to drive in the middle of the roads. Remember many people will be working so dont hold them up.Pull over and let traffic pass,

Fisheman l havn't gone yet and you are assuming l will drive inconsiderately. l have been driving since 1969 and in that time l have had only one endorsement and that was in my youth. If the roads are like the ones we have here in Cheshire l wouldn't think their
would be any problems. Most country A roads have maximum of 50 mph and if the above post is correct that tankers use them, the liklyhood is that you will be governed by them.

Heethers -not you but caravaners in general & Motorhomers on what may be classed A roads but are rural roads with no pavements and sometime unforgiving hedges and walls. These roads are used by people working and they need to be given consideration by tourists.

l understand what you are saying but it also applies to good 80% of the country. Sometimes its difficult to pull over especially if there few laybyes. but l hear concerns and will bear it in Mind
