Site fees
We love caravan club sites and have been members for 6 years. We are creatures of habit and have 3 sites we use regularly. I have come to book 4 nights at Scarborough West Ayton for the first 4 nights in June and it would cost me over £188.00 so will have
to go somewhereelse. The reason is because I want to bring my 20 year old twins who will have just finished University exams so the price is for 4 adults and 1 child. I know it is not a lot for 5 people and some may say my twins can pay their own , but they
are students living on a grant so we pay for them. We only have a folding camper so not living in luxury. The site down the road which looks lovely andd gets good reviews only charges £28.50 per night as opposed to £47 so think we will haveto go there.

Be cheaper for you to book a cottage than pay those fees Cruiser! You need to start using alternative sites, private or CL to keep the costs down a bit. Do your research well and you will be astonished at how much you can save, especially for five persons.

Booked a CL for half the price that we would have paid to stay the same lenght of time at West Ayton , the only difference being the lack of a toilet block, but that is no hardship with modern caravaning. CC site fees are getting too expensive!

Cl's/Cs's are our first choice when we look for a new area to tour. We have full facilities in the van so don't need public toilets and public showers. Club sites, (C&CC and CC) are our next choice.--- If a private site is recommended by any of our friends that is always a consideration. Site fees are part of the holiday so don't give them much thought.

We are happy to pay the fees as the facilities are cleean and well maintained and usually pay over £500 for each of our 2 week holidays at Penrhos and River Breamish but it just seemed a bit much for 4 nights. We are a folding camper so don't have any toilet/shower
facilities so would need a cl with them.0 -
It would be very good if the Caravan Club had a family rate as we like to encourage our twins to come with us and they like to but it has been very expensive since they turned 18 two years ago - it was reasonable before that. We really noticed the price
jump as there are 2 of them so we had to start paying an EXTRA £11 per night and that is when we had to cut down. I know the club has to have adult rates but a reduction for students in a family unit would help.0 -
Surely 18 is an adult.
Write your comments here...Same can be said for 16 year olds. . They can get married, drive a moped, consent to sexual activity, drink wine or beer with a meal, buy premium bonds, work full time, pilot a glider. the list goes on and on.
Yes 16 year olds are most definitely adults.

except where it counts, as in the law
PS married with parental consent, only drink wine and beer if sitting with adults and paid for by adults, children over 5 can drink alcohol at home but that doesn't make that adults.
16 year olds can't drive a car, can't buy fireworks, can't buy cigarettes, can't buy alcohol, can't vote, can't sign a credit agreement.... the list is endless
