Thanks for that JK! Good to hear a definitive answer! Happy

I think we can safely put this thread to bed now! Wink

Don't think that we will hear the last of it, though, unfortunately.

Write your comments here...Correct ---. So can the warden ( only one in the vast ranks of warden staff  so possibly not representative of  the on site staff as a whole) tell us why
so many members feel that the on site rules are not being enforced as they used to be,  prompting this thread and others ????.
    Cool

I don't actually think it's that many is it, K? Just the usual "on forum moaners"!

Wink. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Think you're also going to have to give in graciously on this one - go on, do it before Ian!

Laughing. Use left and right arrows to navigate.

Never in the field of forum posting has so much falsehood been made by so few to the so many who really know the rules. Happy

Nice to see I've been promoted from a "mere warden"  and a "groundsperson" K!

As there will never be "so many members" that feel as you say, I've no question to answer. It is purely your perception of how the on site rules are being broken and that I'm afraid doesn't tally with the vast majority of the membership.

But Moulesy, J&J said that they left because there weren't enough resources to maintain standards on site.......I (and many others) have witnesssed that fall in standards.......struggling to see where there is some sort of 'defeat' to admit to??

Ian - this is what J&J actually wrote :

Some of us have voted with our feet. (Not staff - still waiting for banner to be removed)

There was no further indication of why they'd given up; let's not put words into their mouths! Happy

K - you keep making that sort of, frankly, silly comment. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion - that goes without saying I'd hope. Whewhen theyhings go wrong is when try to claim those opinions are facts and then refuse to retract in spite of
clear evidence to the contrary! Happy

I have always accepted that wardens were fair and even handed in their dealings with the CC membership.  Obviously there is the odd one who isnt .

JK........could you just clarify for us.......why do wardens simply ride past on their tractors, looking the other way, when people are pitched right on te edge of their pitch, about 3 metres from the peg? Also why they ignore people playing ball games on
site? And why they allow a huge van to join their friends on site, blocking the neighbouring pitch?

Because it seems odd that these things would happen if standards are being maintained.

It is gratifying to know that is one warden who would not allow all the various breaches of the rules on their site. What site are you on Jk , I might just go there to see what a well controlled site feels like.

..As usual the "suspects" are clutching at straws to try to make something out of nothing, rule 15 the only one that wardens have been "advised"when possible to relax, was their last subject that they could not understand, now it seem to be  anythingWink

We only think we know what happen from the OP's opening statement and that is one view.  We don't know what the circumstances were, the club aren't likely to respond (and I think that's right) so really this thread has turned intoa bit of a Warden bash,
    which IMO is not appropriate

Yes, I agree with that, although in fairness to the "on forum moaners" it appears that they don't really mean any of it, it's just a bit of fun, not real life! ( At least it is when they appear to have been proved wrong!

And agree as well. In every review there is always a mention of the site being kept to a high standard, comments like 'usual club standard', 'spotless', well maintained' appearing regulary. Even when people find other non club sites these are then compared to the club,  'as good as a club site' , it appears the club has become the measure by which all sites are compared. IMHO this is all down to the warden system, they do a great job, and it is a shame that a few like to take any opportunity to have a go at them.

I think generally club sites are well maintained and consistent.  IF there is an EG directive about rule relaxing this may well impact on that as there will be a lot more variability in what you can expect - more like commercial sites. This (IMO) will not
be good.  Rules should be enforced or scrapped.
