Wardens in hiding

If, as a previous poster claims, wardens are not allowed enough time to do their job properly, Have they contacted head office to express their concerns, Have they demanded more staff for their site. Have they told head office that the job is unmanageable.
We all value having a happy commited warden staff on site, but if they have not raised their problems with their line mamagers, they will never improve their situation.
If their bosses are failing to provide the necessary resource, the answer is in their own hands --- Vote with their feet. It's entirely up to the Wardens, nobody else can improve their situation for them.
Some of us have voted with our feet. (Not staff - still waiting for banner to be removed)
Write your comments here...Thanks, it's good to hear from somebody who.is/was at the sharp end.

BM, sorry, I posted a reply before you edited your post. But the point I was trying to get to was this - were those folk allowed on at 10 the following day because the wardens had been instructed to relax the rules ( the directive) or is that normal practice
at Merrose? Would you have been allowed in at 10 the day before if you' d asked?Write your comments here...As i stated earlier the wardens on two cornish sites told me they have had the same advise from management. Please review my earlier reply to your last question. Sorry if it sounds a bit terse.

For anyone interested, the name of the offical that was quoted by a warden was Neil Windeatt who is head of sites operations. I looked up the organisation charts and recognised the name.

Should we read a anything into what you've left unsaid in this post with regard to relaxation if rules??

I don't have a problem with early arrivals or late departures frankly, but bad behaviour such as excessive noise, dogs loose, children not being supervised, speeding, drunkeness, things that could cause injury or harm, then I would worry about. Very very
rare on Club Sites we have used in past.0 -
I've just found and read this thread but find it very disconcerting that there seems to be some point scoring and off topic comments.
It is interesting that we all sign up to agree abide by the rules and I suspect there are times when we all slip up. However how we expect wardens, however many or few on any given site, to be able to do all
the tasks they have to do - cleaning facilities block, answering the phone, booking people in, bin emptying, grass cutting AND have eyes everywhere to see 'incidents'. If there is a persistent speeder note the number if the vehicle and pass your concerns
onto the warden or if you fancy have a quiet word. Similarly with dogs off leafs and other antisocial behaviour. In the working environment these days we are all accountable for our own and others health and safety. Maybe if people thought they would be
sanctioned for breaking the rules adherence would be better ?0 -

JonandJules......can you confirm whether there has been a directive to wardens to relax rules?
Also, have you seen a general lack of adherence to the rules from people staying on site in recent years / months?

Good one,BB. We went to a restaurant the other day. Staff took our coats, showed us to a table, pulled the chairs out, asked about drinks, brought menus, delivered food and wine, asked us how the meal was, persuaded us that the puddings were nice, would we like coffee, and showed interest as well as care.
On a Club site the wardens take your money and lift the barrier. Then they get on with the routine job description list.
End of customer service.

Unfortunately in all walks of life there are selfish people who don't give a toss for other folk and it is apparent this applies to the 'club' as well. Is it worth having a quiet word with those people, probably not but report them yes.
On the basis that club sites made a profit of one million pounds plus in 2014 on UK sites you would have thought that sites could have been manned appropriate to their needs after all CC ltd has a duty of care to both its employees and itys customers.

Well said BB, so what we're saying here is, not enough wardens on site, especially at peak times. I've mentioned before that C&CC Keswick, the busiest site on the other clubs network, employ 12 wardens during the high season. Simon and Suzan (whom we've got to know well over the last couple of years) run a very slick operation there and the wardens aren't overstretched in their daily tasks, plus from what I've seen, they find time to engage the customers. I think the CC do put more 'floating' wardens on some sites at peak times, this possibly happens at Coniston (?) but at times, on other busy sites at certain times of the year, it seems that more wardens are most definately needed.

Just before we dash out for day,an update on the spuriose posts about wardens recieving instructions about "relaxing" rules, nothing of the sort has been sent out from EGH,have a nice day we are off to Abbotsbury Swannery
Write your comments here...Ive read through this thread and nowhere has anybody claimed that any written management instructions have been sent to wardens. I read it as it had been word of mouth. So jvb, please explain why you are so.certain that there have been no phone calls.

Write your comments here...Then pehaps the Head of Site Operations should retract or clarify what he has in fact advised some site wardens, as I have no reason to doubt two experienced wardens who said exactly the same and quoted the same person in management by name and by title. For clarity, the advise was given during site visits.

I dont kno about general directives to relax rules, but chatting to a warden last year he said he would dearly love to turn away anyone who arrived early but EG say he cannot do that.

Write your comments here...Thank you for the clarification BM -----------. JVB would not be privy to those conversations so in all fairness that poster does not really know the facts.

None of us actually know "the facts" do we, K? We just know that two wardens told BM that they had been given some advice, apparently orally, from Neil Windeatt. Unless and until he or a representative come on here to confirm/clarify exactly what was said,
it's all speculation.0 -

There was one poster who came on here this morning categoricaly stating that there was no such communication from between H/O and warden/s. So he/she obviously knows more than the rest of us. The relevant part of the post being :- Quote

Curiouser and Curiouser.
I'm sure somebody from H/O will post a clarification soon.

I think that Bluemalga saying who told him about this directive, the fact that he got it from two different sources and that he gave the original source of the directive by name and title....is getting a bit beyond 'speculation'.
Certainly seems more convincing that someone who is well known for getting all upset at any criticisms of CC Ltd simply saying that 'nothing of the sort has been sent out'.

But Ian, it wasn't quite a "directive" was it? The wardens at, I think, Merrose and Tintagel told BM something about what they'd apparently been advised orally during a site visit. Given that I doubt the wardens passed it on verbatim it was likely their ( the warden's) interpretation of that advice. It's not even clear if the advice was regarding rules in general or just arrival times which were what BM was asking about originally.
It's all speculation until someone in authority confirms/clarifies what was actually said - but I wouldn't be wanting to hold my breath for that!

Nor would I M.......but put alongside a drop in standards that many have witnessed, as caravan and motorhome sales have ballooned, it seems believable to me.
I would need more than a CC fan-club member saying 'no,no,no none of it's true' to convince me otherwise.
(I admit to some para-phrasing here )
