Hi everyone,

After seeing the thread about "Excessive site fees " it crossed my mind to open a new thread for Value sites,
all under £20.00.

It really doesn't matter if it's a club site, a cl or a comercial site.

Don't forget to include electricity.

So here goes.

My 1st nomination is :-

Our very own club site at Bourton on the Water. I stayed here 2 years ago, it's a great site, well looked after and friendly wardens, it's within a few minutes of Bourton on the Water and all other Cotswold attractions. Granted it has no toilet block or
shower block but who cares, most of us have showers and a loo in our vans.

Cost for a weekend night in June this year is a megre £14.00.

Now thats what i call damned good value.

So come on,,,,,, lets get real and stop moaning about Excessive site fees and get back to enjoying this wonderful
counrty we have.

Cirencester park, one of our favourite sites. Not within the £20 budget at weekends, but £18.20 midweek, is I feel good value. If you do want the weekend it's £22. Which per night for the week works out at £19.82.

Two of my favourites non-facility CC sites are Stover in Devon and Marazion in Cornwall. Both are cracking sites and for two people on a June weekend night the cost is £15.60 and £14.00 respectively.

Our favourite site Stamford (Top Lodge ) is only £17.70 per night in the summer. Lots of lovely walks and cycle rides in the woods.

We like Englethwaite Hall. The caravan toilet is fine so we see no reason to spend money on a toilet block.

We have used Bourton and Whitby among other cheaper sites and have always been happy with them.

£20 is about the limit we set when looking for sites. And it's surprising what you can find be doing a bit of research. Last week we had 4 nights at Ferry Meadows at a smidgen under £18 a night. Currently we'Re on a lovely CS just outside of Fakenham - couple of showers and toilets, washing up and laundry facilities for those who want them free WiFi,  , small "shop" in the very comprehensive info centre with basics and home made puds, paid for with honesty box. It's called Creake Meadows and is fab at £14 a night. Tomorrow we move on to the C&CC site at Polstead which, with ACR works out at just under £16 a night and finally to visit family we'll use the CC Commons Wood site which, by using a site night voucher will be just over £17 a night, including bank holiday weekend.

Part of the fun of planning was doing the research on these sites! Happy

Haven't seen them but certainly hear them. Just after we arrived a red kite flew right over us - marvellous sight. Unfortunately we've had a lot of rather  loud aircraft around over the last couple of evenings.

I have just stayed at the following site for 2 weeks and it is so cheap people are staying for weeks on end. A commercial site advertising in the club Magazine. It has just cost me £9 per night, cheaper than any site I've seen mentioned on this post. The site was about 30% full. Excellent full facility site in every way

That would be the Osprey from Sculthorpe Airfield, practicing air drops, probably.
