Filling motorhome with fresh water

I would have thought that watering cans are made from recycled material and that there are no hygenic processes involved in their manufacture or transportation. Having said that, I don't suppose anybody has died after using one to top up their water tank.
For me, I carry a 10ltr plastic jerry can, a short hose and a sauce bottle with the side cut out. All are food grade and cover most eventualities but also have a long flat food grade hose if travelling abroard. Walking to and from a tap with my water container
helps towards my fitness level. I never clean my water system and drink the water straight from the tap. I recently did some work on the pipes which were as clean as a whistle after 6 years of use.
