Wardens - can they respond to feedback on CT?
It seems very unfair that Wardens do not appear to have the right to respond to feedback, whether this be negative or positive. Perhaps they are governed by the terms of their employment. If this is the case, it would nice to see CC head office respond on
their behalf.
Personally I find wardens friendly and supportive - it cannot be an easy job pleasing everyone.

Some do, SW. In fact one warden has been posting in the Like/Dislike threads this evening.

Tricky one. The danger for wardens responding, particularly to criticism, is that you end up with a "you said" "no I didn't" ding dong slanging match. I think wardens, who in the vast majority of cases do an excellent job, just need pretty thick skin and
to realise that, despite what might appear on CT, the vast majority of members appreciate everything they do. I always try to make a point of seeing them before leaving a site to thank them. It'd be good to think that others do likewise.0 -
Tinwheeler - thanks for the quick response to my question. Sometimes it feels that discussions are bit one sided, hence my question.

No prob, SW. I suspect, as Moulesy implied, that most wardens prefer to distance themselves from the battle. Who can blame them?

Hi SW, yes we can take part in ct, although we have guidelines to follow as employees, we are after all upholding the clubs good name. I use several internet forums and believe ct is one of the liveliest. It's very entertaining after a long day racing round
on the mower with a break to clean the toilets and enforcing a few rules, to read the threads on here. Joking aside,
there are some good points raised on this forum which I know I'm not alone in seeing. It's all a bit of fun eh?0 -
We do have a few wardens who do contribute to the forum and their contribution is most useful as they can often explain why things are as they are in terms of procedures. However I think it would be as wrong for a warden to try and defend themselves against comments directed towards them as it is for members to make such comments in the first place. It a member has sufficient cause to complain about a warden it should be done through the proper channels by emailing the Club direct so that a complaint can be properly investigated.

I don't see it as a battle TW, just sometimes stepping into the arena. Love it me!!

Most of the "complaints"aimed at site staff are done the same as you notice if you read the comments book on sites as a "complaint" is never followed by the "members" identity,so an "honest" reply would be bringing the said site staff down to the same level

As I said David we have guidelines to follow, sometimes it's easier not to post at all rather than getting personal.
At times being factual doesn't really help the forum as some peoples opinion seems to be more important than facts, but that's what it's all about for me, although I'm an employee, I'm also just a member and with that I love the banter that a semi anonymous
internet forum brings.0 -

As long as you don't get thrown to the lions, JK.

It would not be helpful for any warden to get involved in a personal spat with other members on here.
However as very few enquiries or criticism are directed directly at any particular warden, I think it is right and proper for any member on here, be it a member of staff or otherwise, to take part in any discussion and put forward their personal opinions
on any subject.Make the forum as inclusive as possible, makes for better understanding.

The reason for my view Ian is that if anyone has an issue with a Warden, the only people who know the facts i.e. what actually took place, will be the person with the issue and the Warden.
To me, in such circumstances I can't see the point in the issue being raised on a forum where the rest of us aren't really in a position to comment - so anything we say will, at best, be speculation.
Better to raise the issue with the Club staff and ask them to investigate and respond.
Cheers

Not too sure why you say that Bugs, on the basis that the CC rarely even bother to reply to correspondence....and when they do, it's usually a 'standard reply' that doesn't address the specific issue at all.
Totally opposite to my experience. Sometimes you have to ask the question again so that the right person answers the question but I have always completed the question being asked.

We have a neighbour who until she retired last year was in the customer service department at Bourne Leisure,a big company, and the "complaints" they receive about their products could have come directly from CT!! (some on here use their products)
we have had some interesting conversations

There may be a good reason for that, David.......that purple band being one of them.
I very much doubt many outside those that use Club Together know who I am beyond being a regular member of the Club like yourself.

As long as wardens are expressing a personal opinion and not using their discretion to interpret company rules, I see no reason why they should not enjoy discussions on this forum.
After all we have Moderators joining in on the discussions with most of them able to remain non-partisan and fair to all.
