One thing you dislike about club sites

Once whilst having a shower at Moreton, a load of yellow water passed by my feet, along the drainage gully.
I jumped to look over the partition and caught a guy in the act of relieving himself.
I gave him what for to which he replied, sorry mate but I was desparate. For the rest of the holiday, everytime our paths crossed he'd either do an abrupt about turn or turn his head to avoid eye contact. Poor chap, he was quite embarrassed. You sly old dog, Nigel........will be sure to avoid the showers when you're in there.......

Ha ha, very good use of the bold text there Returned to the van after the incident and told the missus what had happened... we had a good
chuckle. When you gotta go, you gotta go I guess0 -
Ah, it's all natural! Once recycled you will be boiling it up for your cuppa. That's one good thing about CC Sites; they are very recycling conscious

Reminds me of a sign I saw in a pub
please flush twice otherwise the toilet waste won't reach the pumps at the bar

So not so much a problem with the CC sites per se, but more the people that frequent them? That being the case then, I object to people that don't like swinging. The number of times I've had disapproving looks when I've asked if they'd like to swap caravans
for just one night. Tut, whats the matter with you all <rolls eyes>0 -
The sites do tend to look alike but caravan sites tend to. As long as they are well maintained we are happy.
That'll be the rows of white and grey boxes then That said, Cheddar looks nothing like Consiton which looks nothing like Chatsworth

NA, do you intend to stick to a C/van or switch to a MH at some point?

Stick with caravan, I move about a lot from the site and the motorhome pulling a small car is too pricey an option. Why do you ask?

Pure interest, I've just sold my C/van & not considered a MH. I just wondered what the rationale behind folks change from one 'code' to another is-thanks for the reply

yes, that is true, but I use the sites as a base to explore the surronding area so not too bothered about that, I suppose some campers who stay on site a lot might have a different viewpoint?

the thing I dislike is the lack of imagination when laying out the site , a bit more hedging or landscaping could make all the difference and turn it from an open field to series of smaller enclaves ..
Write your comments here...4x4 vehicles/ twin axle vans/ kids/ dogs/ flags/motor homes ... I can just about tolerate the rest.. Just

Seems like you need to be alone in the middle of a very large field, itself in the middle of nowhere .

We use a mixture of commercial and CC sites each year. There is little I dislike about the Club Sites we have used, after all, you tend to know what you're going to get on a Club Site, the major downer for us is the lack of fully serviced pitches, each to
their own, but we do prefer fully serviced, and the Club has a definite lack of these.Minor gripes could include the regimentation of pitches, and again, another each to their own, perhaps the lower number of younger vanners - Club Sites do seem to have an elderly customer base compared to commercial sites, I may be wrong on this, but it's
just my opinion.Overall, we have far more likes than dislikes, but that's for another thread.
PS I do hate, not just dislike, all the petty argumental posts that seem to fill CT, this thread included, does CT count as a club site? New or potential members must look at all this bickering and be completely and utterly put off joining the club.

Indeed, Alphonso, which is why many like to join other forums. You do need to post on others to benefit from their friendliness rather than just read them.

I would hope I do both, although I admit I have posted in far more depth on another forum. Over the years I've learnt much from forums, and hopefully passed some of my limited knowledge onto others, but threads full of bickering are of no help to anybody but the very limited few who take part. For me, forums are for sharing knowledge, asking for help, and maybe making some online friendships, some of which have evolved into random meetings on campsites around the UK and France. (Maybe that last bit should be in the like thread, not the dislike - and to be fair, twas another forum)....

Huh!You should have been around in FanG and appy's days AD? You call these arguments?!!
Write your comments here...Fan G and Appy were good honest posters. They said what was on their mind. ----------They never gave me one iota of problems, I quite liked them ------------ It was the " Butter wouldn'r melt in their mouth delicate flower" types who ganged up on those posters until eventually they found another forum where honest opinions were valued.

I thought they were the ones who stomped off in a huff and then came back when they realised CT was to good a thing to miss out on, K!!
