One thing you dislike about club sites

Indeed, if all the regular contributors on CT were together in a room talking face to face, chances are everyone would get along swimmingly. Thats the nature of forums, hiding behind that anonymous log-in name knowing whatever you say, will unlikely come
back and bite you on the bum.0 -
I personally feel that you are wasting everyone's time, Nigel.
You seem to berate everyone for posting on here.......by posting on here. Try reading your own posts (if you can stay awake to do so) and you might see what I mean.
IanH (what does the H stand for by the way?) You're free to have a chat with me in person if you like, tell me what you really think My log
in name isn't anon, a quick google and i'm easily found, feel free to give me a call0 -
Would just like to add , I personally have met many C T 'ers some we have let it be known. and some we have chose not to , and very often have not agreed with some comments made, but we all agree to disagree without any bad feeling or getting nasty and personal
Believe me if some of those I have met were in a room with some off this forum there would be a rather thick atmosphere definatly not all sugar and spice
as for CC sites I'm personally am number 1 fan

I love cc sites , i like all the rules , i really like the spotless shower blocks , i enjoyed cc when i was a motorhomer , and enjoy it now am a caravanner , a monthly mag , a sites directory , a big map ,and loadsa sites the length and breadth of britain

Also what proportion of the club's membership actually posts on here to make our comments valuable to the club?
Out of a membership of around 375,000... it's tiny. So, for all the posts about such things like arrival/departure time misdemeanours, responsible dog ownership, washing lines etc etc etc etc... it's probably way less than 1% of the membership actually
being reached. Makes you wonder why posters don't realise this but are happy to keep plodding away with their greivances and on balance, their praise. Sure, CC committee/management might be reading this material but who actually takes any notice? The occasional
bright idea might end up on an agenda one day but likely, not many. Back on topicAgree, I think the proof of the pudding, or in this casethe club's sites and the way it operates, is in the high demand for pitches which sometimes exceeds demand

I must be easy to please. I don't have any complaints about CC sites and always find wardens very helpful and well informed. I am ex forces so rules and site discipline come natural. Of course, there is an alternative if you're really not that happy. Or
is it given the opportunity to moan, then why not?We have no issues with the CC sites as they are well maintained, just the price is now getting a bit on the high side.
BTW as a former services member I would have thought you would be only to glad to get away from discipline and regimental issues. I know I was!
Re site prices, I've noticed the price hikes but am still happy (at the moment) to keep on visiting CC sites as are a great deal many others, so members are still thinking they are getting good value, yes? At peak times of year, (most expensive) sites are
still being booked to capacity, you only have to do a search of availability for lets say, The Cotswolds network sites, over the upcoming Spring Bank Holiday to know that prices are not putting members off. Until membership starts to decline and people vote
with their feet, the prices will keep on rising.Another agree, which backs up my post above (sorry reading these in sequence)

As has been mentioned somewhere above, I think the reason the club sites are so popular is, even if you've never been to a particular site before, you know roughly what to expect. This can only be commended, the Club has an excellent reputation and based
on this, their current membership quota and the fact that sites get booked up so readily only backs this up. They must be doing something right for this to happen, despite the site fees rising at the rate they do.Based on this, there's not a lot to complain about regarding the sites themselves. With the exception of a couple of places I've been to, which were not bad, just a little lacking in character, the standard of the sites are very high.

Oh dear Ruby.. we've both been on here a long time but I haven't met anyone from the forum, I'm sure they're all pussy cats really...
Write your comments here..."O no there not " of course they are
but it doesn't stop anyone having an opinion0 -
1)Random creation of rules by wardens (only happens on some sites)
Non-enforcement of arrival times - seems to happen on more sites.

People often say that 'you know what you will get with a CC site'......but is this really true?
Is Broadway (all hardstanding, big pitches) the same as Cirencester (lots of grass pitches and most hardstandings very narrow). Moreton has some very narrow pitches and Bladon Chains has some tiny little pitches?
Is Seacroft anything like Incleborough Fields? Are the two halves of Seacroft anything like the standard of each other even?
Cherry Hinton has pitches all over the place and on top of each other.
Some toilet blocks are new and modern, others are ancient and well past their best.
The arrival times vary from site to site and application of rules generally varies considerably.
Basically, there is no common standard at all.......some are good, some are not so good.

well I suggest that they are all good, all different but all good. People tend to get what they like, I only go to HS and a HS on one site is the same as any other. What is the same for me?
You get the same ethos, the same standard of care and comittment by the wardens, the same good standard of the site itself, the toilets are different (well the blocks are not the actual toilets) but cleaned to the same high standard and usually everything works well or it is fixed soon. The people on it are (and call me a snob if you like) very much like me in outlook and manners, and educated. There is a comon bond with your fellow campers. You can have a pleasant 'araldaite' conversation with them. While some might be reserved none are rude. There is a marked difference to non club sites or there was when I last visited one. IMHO anyway.
