One thing you dislike about club sites

The deposit is £25 or the total fees due if less than £25, Michael. I agree that the booking restriction of not being able to book a single night at certain times is a pain and they've lost my business on more than one occasion due to that. Touring doesn't
always lend itself to staying more than one night and that's something CC have got right. On C&CC sites you cannot book 1 night online true, but you can phone the site direct and book 1 night, helpful if you are touring. Also if you are on a C&CC site and you want to move on to another one, you can book ahead through the site office. I always
have trouble with their online booking system anyway and always end up ringing and making a booking over the phone. To get back on topic, I don't think I can pinpoint an actual dislike on a club site, except perhaps 2 hours does seem a tad excessive to shut the toilet block for cleaning. The timing is not an issue, as we are "dawn chorus" risers and grumpy old g's the
other end of the day, lol....As mentioned in other posts is amazing that wardens manage to get the facilties to the good standards that we have come to take for granted when as we all know the state they are left by some and its the whole building/s that are are cleaned and the
floors will have to dry to avoid the litigation society,+ it still leaves 22hrs for use0 -

On the most recent site I've been on, it was an hour for both blocks, one was 10.30-11.30, the other block 11 - 12. There is usually a spare toilet open on all the sites I've been
on during cleaning. Also to counter they are only clean or only looked at once a day, I've seen wardens cleaning at other times on request.0 -
We need more basic facilities sites ( no toilet blocks ). Today's vans are fully equipped so make use of our own facilities.

it's interesting that there are more posts on this OP than the "like club sites" thread
Because people like to complain rather than praise, especially CT members.
very true. I really do wonder why club sites are so popular

Thats a point of view and maybe true for a couple who dont mind showering in the van but can you see a family with several children coping or more to the point the "gunga din" of the famly who will spend the entire stay shifting water and waste.
Not an issue if the pitch ahs its own water and drainage points. This frees up the wardens from having to clean the bathroom and people complaining about the cleanliness of the bathroom.

+1, and is there a demand for such sites? check the availabilty for these sites - they always seem to have space at peak times?

The point of my OP was see what members disliked about club sites ,and the club may take note , but then i realised that they don't take any notice of members
I not saying they do but what makes you say that HD?

Also what proportion of the club's membership actually posts on here to make our comments valuable to the club?

I must be easy to please. I don't have any complaints about CC sites and always find wardens very helpful and well informed. I am ex forces so rules and site discipline come natural. Of course, there is an alternative if you're really not that happy. Or is it given the opportunity to moan, then why not?

Well, some of you lot seem to have been having fun today!
Glad to see that the usual suspects can find plenty of others to fall out with, if they dare to say anything wrong about their beloved organisation.
Anyway, just to add that I agree with the idea of having 'chevron' layout pitches, to avoid having to look straight at the caravan / mh opposite, to ease pitching and to lessen damage to surrounding grass. More imagination is needed when planning sites and
this would be one good idea.0 -

BTW as a former services member I would have thought you would be only to glad to get away from discipline and regimental issues. I know I was!

Out of a membership of around 375,000... it's tiny. So, for all the posts about such things like arrival/departure time misdemeanours, responsible dog ownership, washing lines etc etc etc etc... it's probably way less than 1% of the membership actually
being reached. Makes you wonder why posters don't realise this but are happy to keep plodding away with their greivances and on balance, their praise. Sure, CC committee/management might be reading this material but who actually takes any notice? The occasional
bright idea might end up on an agenda one day but likely, not many. Back on topic0 -

Re site prices, I've noticed the price hikes but am still happy (at the moment) to keep on visiting CC sites as are a great deal many others, so members are still thinking they are getting good value, yes? At peak times of year, (most expensive) sites are still being booked to capacity, you only have to do a search of availability for lets say, The Cotswolds network sites, over the upcoming Spring Bank Holiday to know that prices are not putting members off. Until membership starts to decline and people vote with their feet, the prices will keep on rising.

an example being ,the developments that are taking place on somesites ,are these changes are what the members want or the club thinks the members want

On average 800-1000 members on line and posting day and night from anywhere there is access home and abroad. I wonder just how many CT members are online and posting right now.
Back on topic. As CT is a "site" is it fair game for this thread?
...Is that forum full of negative wingers as well ,or just the ones who transfer to here

You love to get personal don't you David? You'll notice though, I've never made a post relating to members not acknowledging club rules i.e. berating others who do not comply. This is where I think there's little point as the chances are, (as an example)
that family arriving at the site at 11.45, blocking the way out for people leaving, are highly unlikely to have ever read about posters' opinions on the subject, on this forum. With the membership ratio to CT readers/posters being so small... what are the
chances? Jog on chap, noone's forcing you to read my input.0 -
Deleted User User, in simple terms, it's not a waste of time posting in this forum if thats what makes you happy, I, personally, just feel it's a waste of time complaining about members not complying with club rules when it's highly likely those that are in breach,
don't read about it on CT.0 -
In answer to the OP; I cannot name just one. I can give you ONE positive, but not ONE singular negative.
I started a discussion on here about a week ago, basically about things getting heated, bullying and people being afraid to voice opinions because if they do, the pack instinct kicks in. We can all be very brave sitting at a computer screen
