One thing you dislike about club sites

Brooms - what an extraordinary response! Please explain how staying till 4 with warden's permission is against the rules? How is that actually "discrimination" since any member is welcome to do so where conditions allow?
I never mentioned anything about being against the rules. Seems you have joined the gang of here who spouts that response as they have nothing constructive to say.
In my opinion every pitch that's not covered by a pitch fee should be available to new arrivals from 12pm onwards. Fairness for all. Simples.
As for anyone arriving at 7:30pm then you are correct it's their choice. You pay for the pitch from 12pm until the following day 12pm how you use it is your choice.
Of course some people think the world owes them and wants more.......

Mmm - doesn't seem to be any point trying to debate with you when you take the huff and throw those "joined the gang" comments around. And the lst sentence is just crass to be honest. So I'll leave it there - you have your view, I have mine.

The group, well known as "The Usual Suspects" do not like when individuals post views different to.their own. Hence the ganging up and personal insults we regularly see being directed towards named individuals.
Sad really, "live and let live" is not a concept that "The Usual Suspects" use while posting on this forum.

Well, as you know, K, I'm not a member of any group or clique, I hope you're not suggesting I'm a "usual suspect" - I post my views on CC, its sites and systems, whether positive or negative , without having to fawn on others for support.
However, with respect, I'd suggest that the concept of "live and let live" does not sit easily with someone who started a thead suggesting that wardens should report members to HO with the possiblility of haveing their membership revoked for allegedly not
following guidlines. But, hey ho, we're all different, that's what keeps CT interesting!

Letting people in early, should be told to clear off and comeback at the correct time,it should also be the same time throughout the network to stop any confusion.
If any site told us to clear off it would be the last they ever saw of us. I cant believe this enthusiasm among adults for being treated like naughty children, is it a wind up?
Write your comments here...some people need a timepiece since when as 1145 been 1200, sorry but if that is your ans it would mean one less trying to bend the rules

Ok we get your points, before this turns into Sunday departures, etc all over again and you all fall out with each other I will change back to the original post. I don't like that you can't book hard standings, so much so that if 75per cent of the site isn't
hard standing then we don't book or we get there exactly on the entry time, and I expect this is also why lots of others also get to sites early. Also I think some toilet blocks are badly designed and others could really do with updating with some underfloor
heating, Beechwood Grange site springs to mind. I hate taking a shower with someone right opposite using the loo, why can't they put showers and loos in seperate parts of the block? I know some of the newer blocks are designed like this though.0 -
We rarely use club sites now mainly because of price but also because, although we do obey the rules, we don't like not being able to arrive before 12, don't like the regimented rows of caravans and don't like being packed in like sardines.
I know we all moan about not being able to get a pitch at weekends but a few less pitches would give more room and a hedge here and there to break up the rows would be good.

I agree with your point on hardstandinsg, we either go to sites where they are all HS, book a service pitch, or the sites have a very high percentage of pitches that are HS (as there are enough people who like grass).
To ease any racing for HS pitches the club could indicate where grass pitches are closed? On recent visits in spring and autum (and even summer) all the grass pitches were closed so making the site effectivly all HS

I dislike those, not because of what they are, but because it is not possible to provide enough. So you have toilets tied up for excessive periods whilst people shower / wash. Or showers
tied up while folk use the toilets to read War and Peace.??0 -

I was hesitating posting on here for fear of a backlash if I said what I really thought! However, I totally agree with the above - plus I don't need all the rules and regulations which only serve, in my opinion, to set the wrong atmosphere on Club sites.
I like to think that we are considerate of others, will treat a site and use the facilities, leaving them as we would like to find them and help others who need it, but not to interfere or get involved with other's activities. This seems to be the ethos
of most CL's and CSs and that's why we use them most of the time and only use Club sites when there is no real alternative.0 -

Write your comments here...Good post Richard. Never be afraid to post your honest opinion.
The CC has developed a set of on-site rules over the years to achieve exactly the nice relaxed caravanning experience you describe.
It is only when selfish antisocial people, who think that those rules don't apply to them are allowed to cause disharmony on sites that decent people become dissatisfied.
The answer, as we all know, is for the Warden staff to strictly apply those rules without fear or favour and for Head Office to back up the Warden staff in their endeavours.

Please don't get rid of grass pitches, I can see the merits of hard standing especially in poor weather condition but personally I prefer a grass pitch when ever possible and I like trees, if I wanted no grass and no trees I might as well pitch up in a car
park !0 -
Rules like no arrivals before noon (so the wardens can do their job) are the very things I LIKE about CC. Sorry to sound like Victor Meldrew but nothing annoys me more than people trying to sneak in "a few minutes early" to get the best pitches. It's like
airport departure lounges - why do people rush to the gate? The first in the bus is usually the last to get off!0
