One thing you dislike about club sites

Letting people in early, should be told to clear off and comeback at the correct time,it should also be the same time throughout the network to stop any confusion.
Have to agree with letting people on early, we always make sure we arrive after 12 or 1 and it's annoying when others have been let on site early. Especially if we have stopped off on route to avoid early arrival on site.

The fact that wardens come and go - fulfilling their job descriptions while they are there, but having no long term stake in developing and improving the sites, or building up a loyal customer base in the way that private owners would do.
...If you saw a wardens job description,it would be impossible the way they are written to do it all, and as for customer base, thats why they are moved around and the list of wardens are published for the "followers"to tour rather than stagnaiting on one

I'm perfectly happy with the 'don't arrive before 12' rule.....but only if they also stick to the 'off by 12' rule.
Trouble is, some want it both ways. It should be either have no arrival and departure times or stick to both. Having some sort of half-way house doesn't work.

I dislike the continual moaning by members who don't like the strict arrival and departures rules. There is a good reason that the CC have applied those rules,
K
If anything the departure times should be more strict and adhered to with no exemptions.
Out of interest broons, how often do you use club sites out of peak season and weekends? Why would you want the rules to be even stricter than they are at the moment? Just asking!
We use club sites all year round with the last booking being December.
I dont see why members who leave at the 12pm departure time should subsidise those that stay on for up to 4 hours for free. Perhaps this explains the rise of pitch prices.
Ah, you're in the "it's just not fair, someone's getting something at my expense" camp are you? That explains a lot !

Well in a way I agree with you Ian. And where there are no access difficulties (sites like Broadway, Moreton in Marsh, Putts Corner to name but three) it seems a little ridiculous to insist that no-one can come on before 12. Not saying folk should be able
to turn up at 8, but from, say, 10 onwards there's surely not a problem - they just penalise themselves in that they would have a limited choice of pitches (I'm assuming no club member would be rude enough to sit by a pitch hurrying someone into packing!).And before anyone jumps in with two feet, I accept that them's the rules - don't have to like them but that's what being a member of a club is all about surely?

I would have to agree with quite a few people who have posted so far, the one thing I dislike is not being able to book hardstandings. At the moment I always arrive just after 12.00 to try and get one, if I could book I would probably arrive later.

left Great Ayton site at 11.45, or rather tried to leave as there were four caravans trying to get in. Two were side by side next to the office in the two arrivals lanes, one behind one of those and then another cameround the corner and stopped behind them
on the curve of the entrance. If anyone knows the site that means anyone leaving (me and another caravan in front) now can't get out. There seemed to be an 'all warden call out' as two came running out to help. The wardens in the office had no choice but to
start booking them in to let us leave, which I don't think they were going to do. So if you are staying at Great Ayton tonight and you noticed someone glarring at you at about 11.55 and pointing to their watches (I wasn't driving) that was me!So I don't like club members that either can't read or tell the time.

We arrived on Tuesday at it was fullish, counted about 15 empty pitches, it thined out till Friday and was again fullish over the weekend, lots of empty pitches as we left. A great site, all the pitches are good and wide, the grass pitches are NOT in use
and the grass is very wet so its all Hs at the moment0 -
well yes that may happen elsewhere but on clubs sites the rules are you arrive after 12 (or another stated time). Also It would be difficult to have one set of rules for when sites are full and another when they are not as it is impossible to know in advance.
For this site it clearly states on the booking form and on the confirmation email arrive after 12. You confirm those booking conditions when you book. You clearly know what they are. Why should you want to break them? If one doesn't like those rules then club
sites are not the best option.0 -
It amazes me that some people are aghast that someone would arrive 15 minutes early, but are quite happy with people leaving 4 hours late.
Strange people.
not really Ian, when you book a club site (and we are discussing club sites here) you accept the booking conditions and the club rules. Having done so one should then follow the rules. These are arrive after 12, and under the same rules it states that after
having asked for permission you can stay till 4pm. What is so amazing about following the rules? And please don't be insulting. It is not strange to follow the rules. Argue your case rationally rather label people
strange. You may want to read the guidlines for this forum before you are reported.0 -

How does this subsidy happen, if the late leavers are not preventing the resale of the pitch,?
Soemones got to pay for the electric , hot water etc thats not covered in the pitch fee since it only covered until 12pm.

We always use club sites and have never really been dissapointed .we are pretty laid back and easy going and when on site tend to keep ourselves to ourselves.we always pride ourselves on sticking to the rules ,they are there for a reason.

Ah you are in the "I know better camp". Does explain a lot.
i don't believe in discrimination and would like fairness for all members.
Obviously your different.

Yes, a week of friendly discussion, but now it's back to petulance and threats to report if anyone disagrees.......ah well!

The appalling wi-fi, only one disabled washroom per site, the MH service points, barrier card/fob units situated too low to reach from a MH, the need to close facility blocks for 2 hours when cleaning should take 45 mins tops, inadequate laundry machines,
lukewarm water at washing up sinks. I expect I'll think of something else.If you can clean a whole toilet block in 45mins then you should sell your services to the CC ~ impossible ? ....gents, ladies, disabled, baby and toddler, laundry, washing up area, spare toilet. then clean the windows and cills, inside and out, cobwebs.....

yes, I saw your 'friendly' discussion on the motor homes thread, sorry I missed it
I dislike personal insults on CT when rational arguemnets fail

My dislike about club sites is the motorhome service point. I have to lift that manhole lid off every day to clean the drain and after a few heavy vans have had their turn the handle gets stuck. Many times I've been heard to utter a few unchoice words while
squirting the bleach! I look forward to the new grid system we are upgrading to0 -
