One thing you dislike about club sites

We spend relatively few daylight hours on site, club or alternative. Can't think of anything I dislike about the sites themselves; they serve a purpose and, for us, give good value since we don't have to pay extras for things like our dogs and our tiny porch
awning. One thing I dislike about the club system is the rigid arrival/departure rule - although at quiet times these are often open to negotiation, I can see no reason where sites have no access difficulties. We like to arrive early on the first day to make the
most of the day; the fact that we might be limiting our choice of pitch is unimportant to us.0 -
Toilet block cleaning at 10am till 12noon- I'm on holiday yet have to get up early to beat the "toilet police"- Moreton in marsh comes to mind.
And yet only a couple weeks ago there was a thread praising the fact that at Morton in Marsh at least one block of toilets/showers was being cleaned in the afternoon! It's true what they say, you can't please all the people all of the time ( or apparently
at any time in some cases!)0 -
I dislike the continual moaning by members who don't like the strict arrival and departures rules. There is a good reason that the CC have applied those rules,
K
If anything the departure times should be more strict and adhered to with no exemptions.

I quite like the people its the sites and occasionally (very) the wardens I dont like.
You seem to have contradicted yourself sonewhat, David. In the other thread you said you liked Club sites -
"I like them because they are easy to book, the facilities are clean and the water is hot, good for a connvenient night halt."
Can you enlighten us, please?

I quite like club sites, you know what you are getting. I don't like the prices these days but we usually only use them in the low seasons now.
I like the ease of booking, but hate that I can't book H/S
I like that I can book a ferry online fairly easy, I hate that I can't book my trailer at the sametime but a caravan can be booked along with a car.
I like the product RP but hate that its not equal for all members.
There are good and bad points with the CC but isn't that the same with most large organisations my membership is hanging in
the balance at the moment, I'm seriously thinking about joining the other club to see how things are with them.0 -

Oh dear! I dislike the continual moaning by some members about other members who express opinions even slightly different from their own!
"Live and let live" seems to be a mantra only used when it suits some posters!

Out of interest broons, how often do you use club sites out of peak season and weekends? Why would you want the rules to be even stricter than they are at the moment? Just asking!

change and then take a new deposit . Paying £25 deposit for one night stop is ridiculous and in summer you can't book 1 night stops. The
price is not shown in advance so you cannot browse to see the cost until you try and book and their agents on the phone are not friendly at all so be careful what you wish for.0 -
Interesting that you say that about the C&CC booking system, Michael, but it does have some plusses over the CC system, particularly the rolling 12 month programme ( no frenzy day!) and the fact that you can book a HS. I don't actually find the fact that
you have to wait a while to get your pricing a problem; it's only a couple of clicks anyway and if you find it's too expensive you can always look elsewhere. In fact I don't check CC prices until I get to the final stage of booking.0 -
The sites are fine. What I dislike is people who leave the toilets in a disgusting state after using them. Do they do this at home or is it just because there are wardens there to clean up after them.

The deposit is £25 or the total fees due if less than £25, Michael. I agree that the booking restriction of not being able to book a single night at certain times is a pain and they've lost my business on more than one occasion due to that. Touring doesn't
always lend itself to staying more than one night and that's something CC have got right.0 -
I like the sites and think they have balance just right new england bay is beaut and bunree lovely plus i love a bit of the old curtain twitchin lol so dont want to many high hedges
Write your comments here...times 2, our favorite sites also.

We usually book just before going anyway in the low season, the fact that we can book a hardstanding is the BIG plus.
MichaelT, the agents I have spoken to have all been extremley friendly and helpful. I have had dealings with the C&CC as I have elderly friends who come to me to do their bookings for ferries and sites.
Another dislike of the club is busy bodies

..I agree, and then others complain that the facilities are closed for to long or at the "wrong"time when there is still 22hrs left in the day to use them

I shall be parking in an overpriced field later this week for exactly the reasons I mentiond in the "why I Like" thread , convenience, hot water etc . It doesnt mean I would ever consider them
as other than a tempory halt for many of the reasons elaborated by others.Do you feel suficiently enlightened now?
Ah, Thankyou, David.

We use club sites all year round with the last booking being December.
I dont see why members who leave at the 12pm departure time should subsidise those that stay on for up to 4 hours for free. Perhaps this explains the rise of pitch prices.

Letting people in early, should be told to clear off and comeback at the correct time,it should also be the same time throughout the network to stop any confusion.
