From reading all this, I can deduce that the thing liked about CC sites is its ability to cater to the indecisive.

CC sites make people feel at home. The resemblance to the familiar supermarket car parks is reassuring to most caravanners.

BB - the continent is much more M/H friendly. In France there is the great network of Aires.  Supermarkets, like you said welcome motorhomes and some let M/Homers park up overnight. Definitely Not freeloading.

    Good attitude.

Have to agree France is more motorhome friendly. If supermarkets say you are welcome and provide facilitiesthen it is not freeloading but accepting your invitation. Possibly Tesco are watching and you will get in there as part of their new drive.
