Scottie......don't worry, the standard 'put-down' on here is to label anyone who notices anything on a site as a "curtain twitcher".
It's only a matter of time before someone says "I'm too busy enjoying my holiday to notice these things"
Presumably, when they leave or return to the site or they go to the toilet block, they do so with their eyes firmly closed.
Generally I am too busy enjoying my holiday to notice whether someone has strung a washing line up
Is there a rule requiring me to be observant?

I am soooooo glad I shall be spending my precious weeks holiday on a nice quiet, laid back CL! As a matter of principal, I shall have a wash day, and sit back and enjoy relaxing while my lovely fresh laundry flaps merrily in the breeze!

Who wants to wash when on holiday anyway! Granted if you have children or are on an extended tour you might but that's what the washing room and dryer are for.
Unfortunately on a 6 week tour it is inevitable and we do of course use the laundry. However, the CC have not helped themselves in this respect, with the way above inflation rise for this service. A load now costs £6, £4 for the wash and a minimum of two
drying cycles at £1 each. Therefore if the weather is nice, we will hand wash and use the
spin/ rinse cycle ar just a £1, before hanging on the rotary drier.Would be great if every site had a washing machine that lets you do this, 3 out of the 4 sites I used last year on my return from Europe didn't.
Fully agree with you though, its there own greed that has prompted more people to hang washing out.

Back on thread, quite a few CLs we have visited have provided rotary lines between each pitch...

Possibly BT, but tag line would be "Let your smalls flap gaily in the breeze"!
OH, who has a wicked sense of humour, has suggested purchasing a huge pair of cotton knickers, the type that can be hauled up to just under the bra, and using them as a flag for the sisterhood to gather around, prior to taking the daily "boil is best" oath!

When we stopped on our favourite CL in deepest Cornwall, I used to skip off with a bag full of Washing to a lovely private site a couple of miles away. They were happy for me to use on site laundry, I used to have a dip in pool while things had a whirl,
then back to CL and a wash line hidden behind van! Blistering hot day and things were dry in a couple of hours, while we chilled out with a book or touched up the tan!0 -

Have you considered one of these?
We did consider it AD but decided against, as we did not want the extra weight / space it would take up. As almost all the sites we use have machines we decided we would just accept the cost as part of the holiday. TG mentioned about the problem with the
£1 rinse cycle. We also found this the case to start with, as it seemed to take ages for the CC to convert them. However, recently we have not had any problems. So if the weather is OK £1 a load is not bad.0
