Fairly typical club site, flo. Mix of HS and grass pitches all level. Nice views of Quantico Hills if get a pitch on the far side of the site. Can be noisy at times if the neighbouring soccer team have a game!. Easy walk into the town itself, which is horribly
touristified! Narrow access road though, don't be tempted to arrive early. Ignore moans about the church bells in several reviews, they just addcto the charm of the place.Incidentally, if you're also a member of C&CC, have a look at their sitecat Priddy. Not as convenient for Cheddar itself but in a lovely spot with loads of walks direct from the site.

Hey, flo, how many sites are you planning to visit? You will get a good idea from the site's web page and from Google Earth.

I'm intrigued by the Quantico hills? What about the Mendips, can you see those too...I like Cheddar Gorge but only coming down from the top end on the road up in the Mendips. As the site is fairly close to home I haven't sampled it but I can recommend a visit to Wookey Hole and Wells (both town and cathedral.) Glastonbury is nearby too and Clarks Factory Outlet shops in Street. Oh I forgot, Wookey Hole Cave cheddar is worth sampling!

Ooops! Yes, it is the Mendips, not the Quantocks. I did cover a couple of geography lessons when I was teaching but they were doing the African Rift Valley, not Somerset. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
BTW, brue, we're short of teams for quiz night at Cameley Lodge on Friday. Not interested I suppose? (No geography round! )

I liked the Cheddar site a lot. We were there just before Glastonbury so the site was full of people on their way there. Made it nice and lively.
It's really handy for all the attractions in Cheddar and there are shops in walking distance so ticks all the boxes for me. I second the trip to Wookey Hole - use club card to get passes if you can.

We stayed at Chedder Site last June, the Warden and his wife were such lovely people, nothing was ever too much of a problem for them, when we visit again, we hopefully have a pitch as far away from the Football Social Club, due to when we were there, very
loud music played until well after 1am.The warden was not best pleased and he was going to speak to the Football Club and local Council.
The approch to the site is single track therefore strictly adhere to the arrival and departure times.
