Yes! Currently sat on a Derbyshire Club Site and the day before yesterday I watched a gentleman empty two water barrels and his waste water directly on to the pitch! A poor show really and not a very good example to the novice site user.

...Fresh water fine but if i had witnessed waste being emptied i would have said something and if it was a caravan club site also advised the site staff

I must admit I have emptied the remains of the fresh water on the pitch (well, usually around the edge of it, in a hedge if possible). I do run down the level as the end of the holiday approaches.
I assume this is acceptable?
..And why not,why waste water

Have you also pitched near where either of what you say are acceptable when you have been plaiged by flies and smells when the weather is warm, we have always used Southlands site on the IOW as my brother lives there, and before the club bought it that was an accepted practice( owner said it saved him money) on the popular pitches near the facilities in the heat of summer, at times was awfull

Positively encouraged on most of CLs we visit, keeps hedgerows watered. Not quite sure what others are allowing to collect in waste tanks, but all ours has is hand wash and shower water, oh, and I may wash the occasional piece of fruit! Not exactly toxic,
and only smells of whatever scent shower gel we use! We always ask if is ok to empty into hedgerows by the way, nothing taken for granted.0 -
I've been on a few non-club sites where it has been encouraged to put waste water in the hedge, and a have seen several caravanners (on non-Club sites) use a long convoluted hose leading from the waste water outlet to the hedge.

Its common practice in many places and providing the water is spread around I don't see the problem. In places hotter than IOW where water is in short supply it is sometimes positively encouraged to irrigate the shrubs and bushes this way.
..In "hotter" places the fats and other debris will dry out, rather than rot in "cooler" climes which then will stink

Why use a waist container?
It holds your trousers up.

I may be overprotective of my neighbours' peace and quiet as I top up my Aquaroll 2-3 times a day with a couple of 5ltr bottles - no noise and less hassle. As for the Wastemaster I always roll it on grass as it's much queiter than the tarmac or gravel and
carry it back to the van as it's so noisy when empty. What a saint! (mind my halo slipped when I read the idea of emptying my waste into next-door's aquaroll)0 -

I saw a van over Easter with 3 fresh water barrels !!!

I generally have two Aquarolls at the side of the van and swap them over when one is empty. Usually only then fill them up once a day. Waste is emptied as and when but the time of day I do it doesn't bother me.
Had a service pitch recently and they do spoil you especially when it's tipping down with rain and you don't have to fetch fresh water or empty the waste.

I believe in saving water and recycling so I empty my wastewater into my neighbours aquaroll!!!!
Might just explain this post then !!!!

I have just bought a new caravan and there is a distinct unpleasant taste to the water when we make tea using water from the tap. Any thoughts on what we can do to get rid of the taste?

At a show they have a machine that you insert you cassette toilet into, then put £1.50 in and wait as the machine empties and cleans your toilet
