Are members getting lazy?
Being Club members for 13yrs. Over the last 3/4 years we have noticed that the familiar rumble of waste water carriers been taken to be emptied in the morning has all but disappeared. Hopefully members aren't loosening the caps on the waste containers to leak onto the pitch!! Are they? Has anyone else noticed this. Also as a dog owner it annoys me when I see lazy dog owners strolling round the site with their dog/dogs allowing them to wander over occupied pitch to do their wee and poo at will. When there is plenty of walking off site and sometimes a dog walk on site. Where have all the signs gone that say "do not walk your dog on site". Rant over. Thanks

We empty our waste water when we fill our aquaroll which could be any time of the day - dont see the point in doing it in the morning if it's not required. A lot of people shower in the evening now and you often hear them rumbling past late on, about 10.30pm
to fill and empty. we are dog owners and agree about dogs doing their business on site - although did happen once with us but dog must have been desperate (pee). Tend to stick to middle of road nod not let our dog near the grass.0 -
Our barrel lasts 24 hours so unless we are moving on I try not to empty mine early, as they do make quite a noise. I tend to carry it back, as empty it is even more noisy. Perhaps others do similar. I have certainly not seen anyone emptying one around the pitch.
Also at the time of year we tour, there are certainly a lot more motorhomes about in the last 3 / 4 years. This could also be a factor.
As far as dogs are concerned I believe comments are restricted to the dog thread..

There was a thread once with someone complaining that the wastemaster/aquaroll routine was done in the morning, even after 9 as that person wanted a lie in? so you can't please everyone all of the time
When I use an aguaroll it lasts about 24 hours and I tend to do it in the evening so we don't run out in during the night.
Even if it is laziness, what of it? Being lazy on holiday, Is that so bad?
By the way, you're not writing this from a service pitch are you

Thanks Steve didn't know there is a 'dog thread' will have to search for it. Find this club together a little complicated, must use it more often. I didn't mean empty on th pitch, but we have seen waste water containers with the lower cap loosened so that the waste water seeps out 'discretely'.

Could it be that a lot of people are using the facilities fro showering/washing/dishes etc so are using much less water. If a family are on site it would take ages for the whole family to have showers, some poor sole has to keep going out and fill/emptying,
so maybe the 'lazyness' is just using the facilities that they have paid to use.0 -
Ours gets emptied in the evening and I have no clue what other people do because I'm usually out doing something. Perhaps people don't empty them in the morning so much because of the noise. I've never looked to see if anyone has loosened the cap and can't
imagine that I will in future.0 -
I just spread it evenly all over the pitch at night so nobody can see me

The waste tank in our motorhome holds 60 litres so I usually let it get full before emptying it into the wastemaster so only really need to empty it every 2-3 days or if we are leaving a site I will just use the MH service point if possible so no need to
use wastemaster.0 -
I use two AquaRolls and two WasteMasters so usually transport them all at once in the back of the Land Rover. And like the postman in the Father Brown novel, no-one notices a Land Rover.

You're doing well then N, I am impressed, there is no way I could lift a full wastemaster, or aquaroll into the back of a Land Rover. Not without doing myself an injury anyway.

Am I the only one then, who has drilled a couple of convenient holes through the bottom of my Wastemaster? Magic holes they are, Wastemaster
never needs emptying0 -
Another reason for the OP is the increase in the number of full serviced pitches, where the drainaway is on the pitch. As far as I'm concerned, I do like the option of water and drainaway on the pitch. When we don't use a FS pitch, I only empty our wastemaster
when it's full - that is not every day.David

I don't notice this sort of thing at all, too busy getting on with having fun

I never thought of that - so it didn't stop me. I don't let them get fully full, but just to minimise any spilling on the outside.
You could start wuith half full and work up?

I didn't realise I was being 'monitored' by fellow club members either. The next time I'm due to empty the wastemaster (I haven't drilled holes in it really ) I will sound an air horn to gain thy neighbours attention.

The waste container is bigger than the aquaroll and some of the water goes in the toilet and to make tea so they generally need attending to at different times.
I would agree that not all of the fresh water ends up in the wastemaster. However, I always thought it was slightly smaller at 39 L rather than 40L, hence its code reference 039. Our toilet has a separate flush reservoir, so ours seem to empty / fill at
more or less the same rate.0
