Meathop Fell wifi

We were at Meathop Fell this weekend and the wifi was non-existent. There was a very good signal on site, in fact there is a new mast on the lower level. The problem is the site equipment connecting to the internet.

After the New year floods there are still huge problems for BT/Openreach and their wires. With Meathop being a small hamlet then the area is of low priority.

So, just a word of warning if you're going there.  :(

We were there during the week before you arrived, CBR, and found the same problem. I could use it early in the evening but then would loose signal, perhaps when others were coming on line? Glad I'd not paid for the wifi!!

At the price they are charging for the site after the usual price rise for Easter I would expect everything to be in working order. Any suggestions for a good CL down that area NTH ? Nearer to Ulverston the better ! Kellysmum

I would suggest Old Barn Farm, Newby Bridge. Just off A590 and not too far from Ulverston. It has H/S & EHU only. No.290 in SD. Here's the lik to it's web page:-http://www.oldbarnholidays.com/cl/

There's another under Newby Bridge but it is harder to get to. Another one nearer Ulv is Cherry Tree Farm,Little Urswick No.255 in SD .http://www.cherrytree-farmsite-cumbria.co.uk/index.htm. We've not been there so don't know what it's like. You'd have to
drive thro' Ulv to get to it.

When are you thinking of coming down this way? We live 8 mls from Ulverston.

I think from a post you made the other day that you leave on your next trip a couple of days before we are hoping to be down there.  Kellysmum

Sorry dont understand the issue? the Wifi on all club sites is described as limited at best. read the site info before you complain. i was there at new year and had no problem getting email and wifi voice coms. plus my 3 3 g worked fine.. not that i wanted
any of it as i was on holiday... what is this obsession with coms that we cannot live without it? if you are desperate for wifi go somewhere else!!

We're off on the Wed 30th Mar. Such a shame if we miss you.

We were away at the weekend for a quick break from work. However, work never leaves us alone (self-employed) and access to the internet is ALMOST essential (part of our sale are internet based).

At the weekend we couldn't even log-on to the CC site let alone email/internet. Fortunately the 4G signal was good so was able to use that.
