Does anyone know if the route between Kyle of Lochalsh and Kinlochewe (club site 226)  via the A890 to the Achnasheen junction through Glen Carron in the North West Highlands is passable with a caravan please?

Yes it is, UM54. We used it to get from the Kinlochewe site to Morvich a few years ago. It's a bit steep in places but plenty wide enough for the most part. I seem to remember there was one single track section but it was no problem. We were towing a 2 berth caravan with a Kia Sorento at the time. Your outfit will be fine.

Thanks Tinwheeler, we will be doing the reverse of the route you did. We are doing Morvich to Kinlochewe.

Yes, no problem. The other route via Torridon is also OK. Dont tell anyone else but if you stop at Shieldaig you could see a nesting Sea Eagle.

We've done it in the direction you want to go without any problems. There are some steep ascents & decents and the section from Shielaig is wide single track but has lots of passing places. 'Tis a very scenic route too!!Cool

Follow an Artic or a double decker coach if you are concerned.....problem is they normally go too fast to keep up with them!HappyWinking
