Thinking of going to North Norfolk for a few days in May.Any comments? Like the look of Cromer because of the good transport net work.Never been there though.Mixed reviews of Cromer.

    Cromer is lovely, probably our favourite place to visit.  It is not too commercialised like some big seaside towns.  Lovely sandy beaches and if you have a dog, very dog friendly.  Seacroft CC site is the closest to the town with a bus stop right by the gate.  There is a good bus service all along the coast and into Norwich.  If you want to use Seacroft book early as it is very popular, at is also rather expensive in high season.

    Plenty of CLs and a couple of CC sites plus lots of commercial sites, so plenty of choice.  I'm guessing as you want public transport you have a MH? The coast hopper bus runs regularly up the coast road so for example you could visit RSPB Titchwell.  Trains
    run from Cromer to Norwich, there's a heritage railway at Sheringham.  If you give a bit more detail we can see if we can give you more ideas

    I agree Cromer is a nice seaside town and it doesn't take too long too walk there from Seacroft.

    They seem to have done quite a bit of work at Cromer in recent years, especially near the Pier and long the water front.

    We've booked for Incleboro Fields for August this year for the third year running.  Although it's nearer Sheringham it is still only a few minutes drive from Cromer or a short hop on the train from West Runton station which you can walk to in a few minutes.

    As JD6620 has said it's an extremely dog friendly area and there's lots to do.  

    Incleboro Fields is a great site if you like grass pitches (which we do in summer) and there are some great walks from the site.  Love the cliff top walk into Sheringham, cup of tea then get the train back.  No1 in Cromer for the best fish and chips (Sunday Times best Fish and Chip Guide) if a bit pricey.

    We can highly recommend thsi stretch of coast.

    +1 for the Constantia Restaurant.  It's only a 5 minute walk from CC Seacroft - tasty Greek food and a very welcoming ambiance.

    We are also heading to Norfolk this summer, have booked a CL between Cromer and the broads, hoping to do both. Thanks for the information. Haven't been to the area for over 10 years so really looking forward to seeing if it's changed.

    Don't forget Cromer Crabs, we found them dressed and ready to eat in shops and stalls big and small.Smile

    It has not changed much H&T - that is part of it's charm for me.  As David says they have done quite a bit of work on Cromer seafront which got damaged in the storm surge a couple of years ago but other than that it is much the same.Smile

     In Sheringham the 40's weekend in September ( 17/18 this year ) is very popular, well worth seeing if you are in the area at the time. I can also recommend the hog roast on Sheringham market , very filling and good value.

    Hope you have a good time there. We will be down that way after Easter. Just not yet decidied on which sites we will be using. will probably give Barleywood a miss this year as we've been there for the last couple of years. We like to try different sites
    in slightly different areas.

    Eileen have a look at the sites in Loddon, I think a couple of them are around boat yards

    Eileen FM, i think there is a cl at Clippelsby on the Thurne Dyke side ,not used but did have a look a few years ago,

    Not tried that one, have now marked it up for fututre reference. These are the types of tips I like....recommendations from CT members who've used them.

    Not stopped here but walked by a lot.  Great walks a few yards from Upton Dyke which leads out onto the broads.  Good circular walks (8  miles) via South Walsham etc

    Last year we stayed on a superb CL near North Walsham. Was very central and a great base to tour the whole area. Great walking  from the CL, a supermarket and a town within a mile. I can recommend that area

    Not stopped there but have used Home Farm, which is just across the road from this CL. A flat paddock beyond the farm, about 150yds from the Thurne Dyke. Both of these CLs are found under Arcle in the Site Directory.
