We are the same. Bought a cheap hand held vacuum which we keep in the van. Quick and easy to use

We have an ancient (1970's) hand held vacuum cleaner. My husband plugs it in, crawls round the floor, while I sit with my  feet up (literally).

We manage with a still brush and a hand held one, but there is no substituite for giving it a going over with the Dyson when we get home.

So yes, I do think it would be useful.

A lot of wardens ride on mowers collect grass using a vaccuum system. It shouldn't take long to rig up a long hose off that so I could nip in and do your van after I've mowed round it, let's say 2 quid a time!!Wink

We have a small electrolux cylinder vacumm for the van, had it for years £20 from Macro. It lives in the van fits nicely in my basket for the bike and sits under one of the beds. Tend to use it once a week when away for long trips, has all the tools you
need. Once home carpets come out for a shampoo and good Dyson vacumm.

The best thing I bought last year when we bought the caravan last year was an AEG Handheld Vac.  If you are searching for it, try model no AG71A.

Can't say I think its a good idea for sites to have a vacuum cleaner for our use.  Why should we have to pay for an item that lots of us already have and are readily available to buy for not so much money according to your taste and wallet size.  If the
club bought it, it would have to be regularly cleaned out, tested, maintained etc etc, all adding to our annual membership fee.

We use a dustpan and brush and hoover out the van every month or so when its at home. I've no objection to the hire for reward of vaccum cleaners but doubt we'll use it.

Does anyone else think that sites should have a small vacuum cleaner for hire ?  Many times I have needed  to clean the van carpets before returning the van to storage after a trip or after spilling a  jar of coffee or something etc and ended up on my knees
with a brush doing a not very effective job. I do not want to carry a weighty vac and the hand held ones are usually just not up to the job.  A compact  reatively quiet machine could be made available to hire  and use between sociable times. (E.g: Not at 6
am when the early birds pack up to head off home!) I'm sure it would pay for itself quite quickly. What do others think?

Hmm....i can imagine the conversations at reception. Sorry, the vacuum isn't available, the previous user drove off with it/failed to clean it after use/used it to vacuum a liquid/abused it/loaned it on to someone nearby/broke it/........you get the gist.
Far better to buy one for your own use. That way it's always available.

I knew there would be numerous H&S reasons why the hire idea wouldn't/couldn't be implemented.
