We are looking into taking our caravan over to the IOW this year. We live near Worcester so we would probably need a stop over before crossing preferably a CC site.  Just wondered if other members could give us advice. Big adventure for us - never taken
caravan on a ferry!! A bit scary!!

You could try a stopover at Black Knowl, it's a short easy run to the ferry at Lymington. We've used the ferry many times, it's all fairly easy, hope you enjoy your trip.Smile

hey we do this a lot , one good tip if you have tesco vouchers use them for or towards your ferry crossing, we live in Birmingham and get to the isle in one day, when we first went to the iow we stayed overnight on a cl first but after that have done it
in one go and red funnel to and from Lymington are very open to early / late arrivals I would do it in one go once you get to Yarmouth its only 30 min to CCS

getting on off the ferry is easy just take your time

It would depend a bit on what site you were planning to stay on once on the IW.  We do the other way IW to mainland and either stay at Black Knowle or Rookesbury park.

The ferries are quite straightforward to board.  Just be aware that the Wightlink lot can be jobsworths and may well measure your outfit!

Don't forget Morn Hill at Winchester which is handy for all three Ports serving the IOW.
