I am currently staying on Castleton, a great site with lovely wardens.  However, I am amazed by the behaviour of some dog owners...dogs off leads and one mucky wet dog in the toilets with his keeper making a royal mess of the floors!

i wouldn't want the caravan club to place amother sign for the obvious (in my view the club can occasionally exceed a reasonable quota of those!)  but whilst most dog owners are lovely thoughtful people, can the small minority please think about other guests
and the poor wardens that need to clean up after you...

Think this will be moved to the dogs thread although it is really nothing to do with dogs - your complaint is about selfish people who dont follow the rules and lack basic consideration.  They probably leave the toilets in the same mess themselves.

have you spoken to the wardens about your concerns ?, if they don't know they can't do anything about it.

I guess the answer to that is a very definite no!

I'd rather have another sign aimed solely at them. Not having one is a bit like that PC thing, is it that we don't want to draw attention to, or upset the thoughtless themselves? How can we thoughtful and considerate dog owners be offended by a sign which
clearly is aimed at the tiny minority who really do nothng whatsoever to support us! As for tackling it, we should all do that at the moment it happens with a polite reminder, that sign supports our actions in doing so!

Write your comments here...Peope dont go on holiday to snitch about other customers to the wardens.

Those irresponsible owners who behave amd allow their pets to behave in an antisocial manner should have no place on a CC campsite.

The wardens are being paid by the CC to manage the campsite and ensure that the CC on site rules are complied with.

Wardens dont sit around in the office all day  they are out and about on the site ( or should be )  during the day doing their jobs. Dogs in toilets, dogs not under control  etc will be seen by the wardens, that they fail to take action is  a dereliction
    of their duties.

No way should dogs be allowed into the facilities. What was the idiot thinking ? If he got caught short, he should have tied it up outside.  Some people's attitudes simply beggar belief ! And I'm  a dog owning member who always takes our dog with us. Dogs
are not even allowed in the site office, let alone the loos.

...with all due respect, as much as you hold them in the highest esteem, K they are not omnipotent, they are also not on duty for the majority of the 24hrs in a day! They need our backing and support not just accusations of failure and dereliction of duty.

Write your comments here...perhaps the Wardens need a NO IDIOTS  sign at the entrance to the site ?  No, that would be an insult to folk with genuine problems, when the problem is bad selfish attitude.

IMO there should be a no animals sign on all site amenities. Its not the place for dogs.If a person has a dog with them when they visit the toilets then it should be left outside sercure on a lead.

Peter, as a dog owner I completely agree with you. I think the point is that on just about every site I've visited, there are such signs on all the amenity blocks. The problem of course is that one or two choose to ignore them.

But let's be positive about it, there are hundreds of folk who don't just ignore them!
