Sadly we had to let Harvey-no-Tail go a week ago Thursday, 16yrs a faithful mate, my dog, not hers. We now are vanning solo dog. So there is muted excitement as we approach lifting Alice out of winter storage as they'll be no need to two dog beds, bowls etc, be a sad rejig. Some of you will have been lucky to see our well behaved black and tan collie/spaniel cross over the last 3years. They(the kids) know she's coming out for a service, and a clean, they know her, but have forgotten her. She's spent the winter full of stuff. She'll be a bit mucky and need a few things doing to her. But I have to admit, all things considered, I am more excited than the kids again this season. May be it's the towing bit, getting there, may be fixing stuff on holiday, may be its the rain on the roof, may be its looking forward to seeing/meeting new people, and visiting new places I dont know or have never heard of or been too. I do know it wont be the same, getting out of bed and not near breaking my neck on Harvey-no-Tail. It will be a tuff first run out on our first holiday in Alice this year. I Trust your opening run goes well:)

We know exactly how you feel as we lost our beautiful gsd last October and went away for the first time in November with just one dog. It was really hard as our gsd used to get that excited when we took the girls away she would just scream with delight when
we arrived onsite.  Not that the other campers were happy to hear her screams but we knew how happy she was to be there. We will be off again on our travels next month and it will still be sad without Zara but our elderly Dalmatian will get giddy to be away
and so will we. It's been a miserable winter hasn't it, so much rain but let's hope for a dryish spring to make up for it. Happy travels to you all.

Our vans see us through good times and bad, they've been a great escape for us even though our travelling "companions" have changed along the way. Hope you enjoy your holdiays Si and family.
