Having fun booking a Club Site, the wife has to use up a weeks holiday before April or loose them, so looking online March bankholiday almost all popular sites are booked, some sites you cant  see if there are vacant pitches as the calendar is all grey.

I know non members pay higher fees than us but obviously not enough or members should be given more time to book sites up

If you call the site they will say that you can go on a waiting list, I say, charge a 30% non refundable deposits unless a valid reason is given      or       all caravan club sites, should be members only

mmmmm caravan club wont do that will they, incase they loose revenue

Its the Monday rant

Don't quite follow your logic there to be honest. How do you know whether it's members or non members who have booked? Presumably by March BH you mean Easter weekend so it's hardly surprising a lot of sites are booked up - booking has been open for over
a month now. I appreciate you might not have known when exactly your wife needed to use her holidays but it's hardly the club's fault is it?

Still, hope you find something to suit - try CLs, there must be loads out there looking for custom. Happy

The greyed out pitches are normally those that are not available at that time of year, probably grass.

I am fairly sure that on some sites the CC have to admit non members as part of the lease agreement.

As far as deposits are concerned, the CC has said that having them would be unlikely to decrease the number of cancellations.

Hello Hoskins and welcome to Club Together.  I'm afraid this is a topic which pops up from time to time but posting a Monday rant on the forum is unlikely to ever change anything.  If you feel strongly about this issue why not put it in writing to the Club's
    HQ at East Grinstead.

The greyed out pitches are not available for now, and I think you will find a non member cannot book on line ,so the seasonal site are not open yet so its only members that have booked?

Depends on site chosen, some weekends book up very quickly on certain sites, and bookings have been open for nearly six weeks now, so a lot of Bank Holiday periods will have been taken. Not likely to be none members given the extra £10 per night, more likely
those lucky enough to know their annual leave dates earlier than some. Worth phoning sites directly though, likely to be lots on cancellations. Good luck with finding somewhere.

Non members are very rare on sites as the extra makes the sites very expensive. In over 28 years in the club only seen two non members and on one of these the warden did not even know how to add the extra.

Why not look for a non CC site? There are plenty of very good ones out there at similar prices.

    Hi

Firstly, if the calendar you are refering to is all grey, that will be the site or pitches being closed. Secondly, if you call a Club site, you will not be put on a waiting list. The only witing list the Club operates is for seasonal pitches, totally different
    to what you are asking.

Thirdly, as has already been stated, non members cannot book online, only through the call centre  or the sites direct, even so non member take up is so miniscule to not have an effect.
