Is there a date for re-opening - York Rowntree

Hi, we have not had a phone call yet to tell us that our booking is cancelled but we are due to arrive this Friday 15th Jan. I can see from the blog on the sticky that the current wardens have now moved on to Coniston and there is no tel answer (probably for obvious reasons) at Rowntree. We were told earlier in the week that the loss adjusters were visiting Tuesday (gone) and then clean up may begin. Is there any further update as to a "predicted" opening date?

They phoned last week   to cancel our booking for tomorrow 11th and Tue 12th said they would be reopening on the 15th, so hopefully this, is why you haven't received any cancelation call.

    Hi,

we were booked on for Friday 15th Jan and we received a very apologetic call from someone at the site to cancel our booking On Tuesday morning.

They hope to open next week, possibly Tuesday if all goes well.

Here's wishing them a speedy and problem free clean up at a site many of us  enjoyed visiting over the years.

We've just cancelled our February stay (5th -9th) if anyone can use it - it included a weekend.  We wanted to take the kids to the Jorvik Centre as they've been studying the Vikings at school but as it's still closed due to flooding, we've going to go another
    time.
