What makes an 'open all year site'?

I am planning a trip throught the West Midlands shortly and was pleased to see Harbury Fields Farm Touring Park on the 'open all year' list.

When I go to book I find that pitches are not available until February 12th.

Is it me?

Just checked the Sites Directory and Handbook which states opening dates 12th February - 30th November.

Yes they caught us out one year, we were lucky and got into Warwick racecourse. Harbury always closes December and January

Yes, 'Open All Year' seems to be a very 'elastic' phrase. Same problem on C&CC.  Very annoying if you do actually want to stay somewhere in the depths of winter.

Please accept our sincere apologies. This was added to the open all year list incorrectly and has now been removed. The Site is open from 12th February 2016.

So do I, but Rowena did explain that it was mistakenly added to the open all year list and has since been removed.  Gremlins obviously

I brought this up about Harbury Fields some weeks back, even reporting it to HQ and the replies I received were quite curt, with  no apology for the error

This problem of sites showing open has been the same for YEARS

Try putting in a date in January for all sites Devon and Cornwall  you wil get 7 supposedly open you will find only 1 is open

I'me sure they can't al have been listed incorrectly by mistake

No response from the club then to why Cornwall shows 7 sites open but in reality only one is open WHY

Not quite sure where you are looking AlanW, but when I looked on "open all year sites" webpage, it is only showing the one? Carnon Downs. Doesn't list any others as being open all year. Hope this helps.Happy

By going into uk bookings  Devon and cornwall then put in a date i.e. sometime in January and you get 7 sites saying they are open but when look at booking in reality only carnon downs as you say is open

Ah. We look in different places! I use open all year in search engine, and it comes up with list of those open. Carnon Downs cannot be booked via system as it is an AS, so you have to phone site direct.

The uk bookings page which most would probably use first isn't working properly. I just listed a search for Cornwall in January and the Camelford site came up.Sad

If you open up the "facilities" box and tick "open all year" up comes Carnon Downs but I think some may miss this area? It would be better if the date input matched the sites available.

An " Open all year site "  is A SITE Which is open for business 365 days a year..  366 days in a leap year.    Anything less than that cannot be described as "Open All Year".   Simples !!!!!Cool

There's always the good old fashioned Sites Book for reference as well! Not as good as it used to be be now that the supplement is no longer printed, but that's another issue!Happy
