! I'm not sure but it looks as though the Meek family are here too right opposite where we are. We recognised them from the photos in the club magazine.
you will have to pop over and say hello, or you could take them a pizza.
Write your comments here...They've gone now. They left this morning. Did they mention visiting Gatwick in their story?

However if it is full at weekends this could end up costing it money, unless it had separate weekend pricing.
Even B&Q have a 10% off day?
look at it this way - if weekends are full it really means they are over subscribed
so if by offering mid week at a cheaper rate some weekenders change to mid week. the week end spots will most likely be filled by others
Result - increased pitch use and profit
It really is not rocket science
It just needs the will to try something different such as mid week discounts across the board
...The B&Q 10% is for over sixties? midweek discounts attract the retired already,so I think it would not alter the W/end bookins that atract the "less fortunate" ie those that are working
Write your comments here...Not everyone works weekdays. At the moment, I'm being asked to work weekend evenings and being given time off on weekdays.
...We are talking of the majority

Read their latest story in the stories section....they sort of missed the boat for Spain recently..
Write your comments here...Yes, I just read about that. Maybe, they'll mention Gatwick in their next episode. It's not there yet!

I see your review is on the site, it sounds as though you have left, are you still there? I don't think I could cope with the runway noise but it must be good for plane enthusiasts. The cost of the pitches is certainly good at Gatwick but I presume the storage area makes money for the CC?

Agreed the pricing policy during the summer is a bit steep, but overall it is still value for money the annual fee is £48 per couple per year if you go to a CC site for a couple of weeks at start of season and end of season, your annual fee is more than
paid for, then during summer there are plenty sites out there that are cheaper and as good quality as most CC sites ( although there are a few bad apples, as you can find in most hospitality businesses ) If you add your monthly magazine it can still be value
for money. This may be the wrong thread but may I commend the excellent job that all CC wardens do, considering the CC claiming that some of the price increase is due to having to pay some wardens the minimum wage, I have not met one warden that do not put 110 percent
into their job and deserve every penny they are paid.0 -

All reviews are voluntary Malcolm.
Write your comments here...Yes but you always get an email from the club inviting you to do a review.

I have, for every site we visited while touring Norfolk with the in-laws.....

Read a few about Hebdon Bridge and Rosedale Abbey not being worth the fee as they don't have any facilities
Think they should have gone to specsavers then they may be able to read the site description.......

Write your comments here...That's right. The email from the club comes after a stay at the site. You just click on it and it takes you to the review page.
You can opt out of receiving club emails and that could be a reason why some don't receive it.

We do get them whenever we stay on a club site. I'd do a review regardless of whether or not a get a request from HO.

I just read the reviews on here for Rookesbuy Park Club site - lots of them saying Why do we have to mix with the lower classes who have tents ? We look down on them.
What an attitude the blazered types have!

ET - putting words into people's mouths?
I've just read the first 3 pages of reviews. 2 of them asked why part of the dog walk had been given over to tents - no mention of "lower classes". One, half way down the second page does (unfairly IMO) attempt to tar all tent campers with the same brush,
can't recall the exact words, something to do with noise and smoky barbecues I think. But that can hardly be classed as "lots" I'd have thought. How many pages of reviews did you read - are there really more comments like that?0 -
I am going to take reviews with a very big "pinch of salt" in future after reading Tripadvisor reviews about a hotel where we spent Xmas made by a person who was there at the same time, some of it was just unbelievable and the poisonous remarks about staff
could have really damaged their job prospects. It was all so unfair that I contacted the employers to put our completely opposite view.I agree David. I left a review on TA about a pub restaurant we went to with friends just before Christmas. On both occasions it was full to the rafters and on both occasions we were served promptly and cheerfully and had really excellent meals. Like you
I was shocked to read a couple of poor reviews so wrote to the owner who said they occasionally get poor reviews from folk who clearly have never actually visited, in the hope that they'll be offered a free meal as compensation!(Sorry, slightly off thread I know, just thought it was worth commenting!)

Hi Moulesy, it looked like a concerted anti tent campaign - maybe the management did some review pruning.

Good for them ( the management) if they did. Like lots on here, we started as tent campers and many younger members of our extended family are now. Nice that they're being made welcome by the club I think!

We did tent camping using CSs whilst our caravan was on order. We have a four berth inflatable Vango tent which we used for three months before our caravan was ready for us to take delivery.

Write your comments here...From 9th March to 9th June 2015. We had no choice because we couldn't get delivery of the new caravan any earlier.
