hi, has anyone got any pictures of the new service pitches at seacroft cc site?

has this site had a new shower block at all?.

Last time I went was  about 4 years ago and it was small and dated then.

Thanks

I have got a photo or two but can't seem to get them uploaded here.  The ones at the top of the site with sea veiws are very spacious.  No the site hasn't had a new shower block unfortunately.  They could do with s new small block at the top of the site
near the new serviced pitches.  They seem to think if you have serviced pitch you won't use a shower block but we do as our shower cubilce is very small.  Quite a few peple up there also used the shower block and it was quite a walk!

When we visited in September I thought the new service pitches were the best I've ever seen, lots of space, some with views. There is also a new well appointed M/H point up there as well as an older one near the entrance gates. Generally the "new" area is in complete contrast to the rather worn out old site with some very muddy grass  pitches, crowded and uneven areas. There are some older serviced pitches amongst the main part of the site so I presume you wouldn't automatically get one of the newest ones. We were on a hardstanding, I looked in on the wash block and I didn't think it was too bad. I liked the Seacroft area.Smile

Its been a couple of years since we have been and we had one of the old  serviced pitchs which wasn't that level!!! Have they made the site bigger to create the new pitches?

I'm not sure if it was the old camping area which is now down by the road? Not having been there before, you follow the site upwards and turn left near the top. The new pitches are excellent, not sure how level they really are but they look very good, I would book a serviced pitch if returning but would I get a new one?Frown

There was an area behind the original motorhome service point which I assumes to be grass pitches although unlike where we were they were in quite good condition which suggests the area was not used.

The dog walk was at the back of this area and isn't the grass area immediately behind for the children to play ball games on?

Yes, that's right Peedee, there is a dog walk in that area plus a tent field. I'm sure I read somehwere that the tent field used to be at the top before the new serviced pitches were built. You can see on the site plan where everything is now.

We loved the new serviced pitches. we were most impressed as they were very big and some had a view of the sea. The whole area up there is new. We certainly hope to go again in 2016..  We went years ago and were on a rather grassy/muddy pitch which put us
off going again which is a shame as we love the area.  Mr H loved the seerviced pitch - he said it transformed the holiday for him.

Seacroft is one of our favourite sites, largely due to its location.  The new service pitches are superb, I'm hoping we can bag one when we are there for Christmas and New Year.  The trouble is the new pitches put the remainder of the site to shame, espeacially
the hideous grass area in the adjacent field.  Yes it is a bit further to walk to the toilet block but I don't think the new area warrants a new block being built, unless there is any further deveopments to the site. Seacroft is a very popular site and I'm
sure the Caravan Club could afford to spruce up the remainder of the site to bring it in line with the new area.

When we were there with grand kids three years ago, the tent pitches were on the right as you came into the site, if my memory serves me right. We had a serviced pitch then and they were just up from the shower block, glad we weren't on the grass as it looked
    terrible.......Cool

I was at Seacroft just a few days before the new pitches opened (closed off with barriers). This is what I put in my review the main thrust of which seems to concur with some others posting here.

... "Many pitches are on grass but there are a good number of hard standing and currently 10 service pitches very soon to be added to with 23 spanking new, full-service pitches which looked, from a distance, to be absolutely excellent and many of these
raised up slightly so I imagine that views would be great from here. My only doubt concerned the fact that from some of these new pitches it would be a decent walk to the toilet block and I also wondered if the toilet block could adequately cope with the extra
    numbers at busy periods."
