Just one of the many reasons we loved staying at Tewkesbury Battlefield is that history is quite literally on your doorstep.

Step straight out of the campsite and you can follow the fascinating battlefield walk, taking in the site of the decisive 1471 battle from the Battle of Tewkesbury. It’s a brilliant way to stretch your legs, soak up some local history, and imagine the events that shaped England right where you’re standing.

To make it even easier, we used the Tewkesbury Battlefield Walk App, which guides you around the route and there’s loads of signs dotted along the route that brings the story to life as you go.

A lovely walk, packed with history, and all just a few steps from your pitch. 🏕️⚔️📱

This is an easy 3 mile walk from the Troutbeck Head site. Go to the start of the dog walk where you'll see a signpost for 'Harry's bench'. One minute of walking will take you to a bench with this view.

Go through the dog walk and turn right onto the forest road then take the next left through some very lovely countryside.

The forest road will come out at the road to High Row, turn left, left again at the t junction then it's all downhill to the site entrance.
