Hiring a Towcar
Hi. I am due to tow my caravan for a week away at the end of next week but 2 days ago my towcar caught fire due to an electrical fault, its been badly damaged and written off by my insurance company who have taken it away. Because my insurance company have immediately written the car off they are not liable to lend me a car, also because I was not towing at the time of the fire there was no need or responsability to repatriate my caravan. Last year when the car broke down with mechanical problems Green Flag Mayday took it away for repair but just before the holiday was due to end they started sweating about repatriating me. They didn't want to send out a tow truck because the distance (wareham to Stoke-on-Trent) was too much they said and they were going to provide me with a rental car that could tow. As my car was fixed the day before the return this wasn't necessary but I never found out who rents cars with towbars.
I have phoned enterprise yesterday to hire a car and they tell me that they don't provide any vehicles with tow bars. Can anyone help and tell me who does provide hire cars with tow bars so I can wait for my insurance to settle rather than having to be bounced into an emergancy purchase digging into my savings.
