Submersible pump issues

Hi

When I try to fill the water system as usual I am opening sink hot water tap and turning pump on but nothing happens. However when I move the tap to cold water the pump engages and water flows.

I have tried completely draining the system, re attaching pump and also tried the taps in bathroom and shower but on none of them does the hot water work and the pump switches off when the tap is moved to hot.

Initial thought was an airlock but thought complete drain would solve this.

Doesanyone have a similar experience and useful suggestions to remedy this please?

Brian

@Bri69cho are you referring to the pump that goes into an external water barrel or are you referring to the submersible pumps sometimes used in a motorhome fixed water tank?

@Bri69cho caravan/MH taps are activated by a microswitch in each tap or a pressure switch that senses a pressure drop and operates the pump. If all your hot water taps are not working then it could be a pressure system rather than all microswitches have failed, have you checked your manual?

There are plenty of youtube videos that might help.

Do you get hot water in the bathroom if you first turn on the cold at kitchen tap, then turn on the hot in the bathroom?

Are the taps individual or mixer type?

You haven't left your drain valve open (yellow valve) on your water heater by any chance.
