I saw a press release online saying that the Forestry Commission were going to reopen the old Stamford Club site as a campsite. Currently it is being offered as a motorhome parking area with no facilities.

Another press article mentioned that Seacroft in Cromer had,had plans approved to replace the current toilet block. They will also add a enclosed ball sports area for children, probably similar to the one at Clumber Park which is very popular with the kids.

It’s known as Fineshade Wood now. Prices from £13.50 per night. We have used some Forestry Sites in Scotland, they were very good. And cheap.

It would have to improve a lot before we'd consider stopping there again. Possibly the worst site of the clubs we ever stopped on. It would be handy as a site going across country for us as its not far off the A50 to Nottingham and beyond from North Wales.

I also saw the news that the old Stamford site was to reopen, as it was one of our favourites we are looking forward to staying again.
