Insurance for Repatriation of Motorhome
I am due to travel to Ireland this summer and already have breakdown and medical insurance; however my current insurance does not cover repatriation of the vehicle if I am unable to drive it for some reason (eg twisted ankle etc). I don't want to take out a whole new and costly general insurance but will be happy to pay for additional cover for this eventuality. Has anyone else encountered this problem (current insurance is Flexplus with Nationwide)?

If Flex Plus doesnt cover that then it’s a big omission. I am surprised . Have you spoken to them?
If you have to look elsewhere then a single trip overseas breakdown insurance with firms like Eurobreakdown and Green Flag - just for the member of days you require in Ireland - will meet your needs in case of no available driver - but if your motorhome is large then you may be over their size or weight limits. @Matt22 I have never encountered this problem, but I have always accepted that in the worst case scenario I would either (a) sit it out until I was fit enough to drive (my time is my own) or (b) fund the costs of getting someone (one of my sons) out from the UK to assist. However, I believe Nationwide will actually fund this. Certainly this used to be the case, but the latest underwriters policy is less clear and says in Section B under Emergency medical treatment and associated expenses they will cover:
The necessary travel and accommodation costs for a person who has to stay with and/or travel to be with the insured person, where we agree this is necessary.
I suggest you speak with them to clarify if the above covers the costs of obtaining an alternative driver for a vehicle.
