Paper Map or Sat Nav?

I think there is a space for both, but it might depend on the type of journey? If it was just in the car more likely it would just be the sat nav. However in the motorhome or caravan wewould employ both. A map is easier in highlighting service stations making decisions on where to stop easier. When I say maps BTW I mean a road atless.

Yes, depends on type of journey. There’s a lot of common sense to be applied as well. We check an unknown route for railway bridges, narrow bridges, narrow roads, etc…..via an OS map prior to setting off, and remain vigilant along the journey for any potential harzards, particularly if in MH. If it’s just a stretch of motorway, then dual carriageway, we possibly rely more on Sat Nav. Prefer to use our Apple phones rather than car Sat Nav, as it’s American, and won’t take UK postcodes. Fine with US zip codes though🤭

Usually Google Maps on the Phone.... especially if I'm on my own. If Carol is directing me, then the paper map. She finds it easier to turn the map around to face the way we are going.. 😀... and you can usually see a greater area on the printed map.
If I'm towing, I'll usually check out any minor roads before I start.

Both - we always set the satnav, but if I'm the passenger I like to have the map as well. I love maps anyway! But I find it better for having an overview of the route than the satnav. Also, if there are any hold-ups, I find it easier to check on the map beforehand if there is a viable alternative route if we're in the MH. We do check the route on the satnav beforehand as well, don't like unexpected "surprises" en route!

Both, just in case the signal fails, the battery fails. Also I like the larger page that's available on a larger map.

Both
Definitely both as the Sat nav is prone to take one down the fastest route for a car and often there are roads shown on the Sat Nav that are not suitable for taking a caravan down. We always plan our route using both before moving from one site to another.

I use a map (paper or digital) for planning but an on-board satnav for following the route.
But I have one pet hate : Google maps in guidance mode. Its pronunciation of foreign place and road names is excruciatingly painful.
I once followed a road to the west of Lake Garda which had a very long name and roundabouts every 200 metres or so. The satnav hadn't finished its instructions before the next intersection came up. I had almost lost the will to live by the time we arrived at our destination!

Sat Nav
I have to use satnav because someone else is absolutely useless at following a map! It does, however, require a bit of work to ensure you are sent down the correct route without any stupid - or, potentially disastrous detours. I use a Tomtom device and plan the route in the TT App called "My Drive" - on my computer. I also research any 'dodgy' bits on Google Maps Street View and amend the route on "My Drive" as necessary. I then save the route in the App which automatically downloads it to the TT device by Wifi. The satnav will then follow that route exactly - and if I've got it wrong, there's no one to blame but me! Been using this method for years and it's never let me down - yet!!😃
It is a bit time consuming to set up a new route - but well worth it for the peace of mind it gives me.

I'm happy to follow the satnav when driving solo, but always plan a trip with the caravan beforehand using a paper map.
I'll use the satnav for time to destination, and for an overview of the area, but have had to ignore it too many times to trust it.
I have no problems with a paper map, and used them all the time when I began driving, and I think that technology is there to help, not dictate. One only has to look at the recent case of an Amazon driver getting stuck on Essex mudflats to see the mess you can get into, although I suspect that he isn't the sharpest knife in the box.
