Journey through Norway
We are travelling to Norway in September from Hirtshals to Kristiansand in our Rapido 880F. The first part of the journey with friends to Bergen. They then return we will continue our journey hopeing to reach the Lofoten Islands & Tromso before returning via Sweden catching a ferry from Trelleborg to Rostock on the 9th October. Does anyone have any experience with this journey ?
We have acquired an autopass tag and additional tag for road tolls and ferry discounts. Any tips would be gratefully appreciated.

We have toured Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway with our caravan several times in the past 45 years, from the far south to the far north, and were in Lofoten in 2024, in summer, just solo car, using Air B&B, it was very busy on the roads then, a lot of MHs on some fairly narrow roads. You may need to book ahead on ferries if you have an itinerary you wish to stick to, but it will not be as busy as in the summer months.
MHs are very popular and usually well catered for with water emptying/filling points and often toilet disposal too at intervals or at petrol stations. There are sites and aires, these are often busy, sites with facilities sometimes start closing at the end of September. October can be very cold.
You can stop overnight in many lay-bys, but this is often not so popular with the locals. My sister (I come from the North of Norway) was saying that there are a lot of complaints that car drivers are having difficulty in finding parking spaces in lay-bys at times, but that is more a peak holiday time problem.Expect everything to be pretty expensive in Scandinavia, especially eating out.
Roads are better in Sweden than in Norway, and their supermarkets generally offer more choice than those in more remote areas of Norway.
