    Something is happening. If you look at this page you can now have Mayday European Breakdown Cover. This looks very similar to the vehicle cover previously offered in the Red Pennant Cover.

    A helpful answer Colin, but whereas Red Pennant also allowed Personal Cover - especially for medical insurance on terms which some found generous - this latest Green Flag insurance does not include that . It looks to be just for the vehicles.

    Presumably CAMC are still working at sourcing a supplier of the medical side of the scheme.

    I could not previously recall Mayday European Breakdown Cover, hence why I said something is happening. It looks like they are part way there, just needing to sort the personalhealth insurance side out.

    We are delighted to have been able to launch MAYDAY European Breakdown cover, which will provide breakdown and recovery services whilst travelling in Europe.  We are working towards launching a tailored travel insurance product and aiming to have this available before the end of February.  The travel insurance product, in line with the breakdown cover, has been designed with touring holidays in mind. 

    As well as all the cover levels you'd expect, it will also cover: 

     - Both UK and European holidays.  

    - Driving holidays and flight holidays as standard.  

    - Cancellation cover which includes cancellation if your intended vehicle becomes unusable prior to departure.   

    - Returning your vehicle(s) back to the UK if the main driver is unable to drive following a medical incident.  

    - We will be introducing an accepted medical conditions list, which means accepted pre-existing medical conditions will automatically be covered.  There will be no medical screening requirements and no additional premiums to pay.  

    - If for any reason our tailored product is unsuitable for an individual's circumstances, our new insurance partner will be able to suggest alternatives, such as worldwide travel as an example. 

    As soon as this becomes available our website will be updated with all the relevant information and Frequently Asked Questions.  We are unable to provide any further details at this time.

    The Mayday European cover won’t suite everyone as the length limit is 7 metres. Fortunately ours is 6 cm under this.

    Vehicles covered

    We can cover cars, vans, motorhomes, and motorbikes up to 4.25 tonnes, 2.55 metres wide, 3 metres tall, and 7 metres long. We cover vehicles aged under 16 years old.

    We can cover a standard caravan or trailer within the listed dimensions, when towed by the insured vehicle, for an additional premium, provided it complies with UK legal towing guidelines and uses an ordinary 50mm tow-ball.
