Swift caravans
I understand that over the last few years many Swift caravan owners have experienced problems with cracking in the panoramic front windows. A dealer told me that the factory are busy with warranty work because of this manufacturing problem. Does anyone know what the present situation is? Has this problem been sorted? I was considering buying a new Swift but am reluctant to touch them at the moment. Thanks. Nuggy

We had that issue, after about 2 1/2 yrs use, but thankfully our dealers was able to replace it under warranty, however if I not know what the current situation is.

Hi Nelliethehooker, last week when I called in at a very well established family dealership, the owner told me that the Swift factory has three dedicated teams working on the problem. I cannot vouch for the accuracy of his comments, but it does make me reluctant. If the manufacturing methods have been changed, at what "year model" should they be free of the potential problem? I can't imagine the company would give me unbiased information. Thanks anyway.

I'm sure you could get the layout you want from another manufacturer, so why not for piece of mind buy from the competition. Your best bet would be to source German caravan.

Colin is right. Your choice is style over substance or solid engineering . Do you really need panoramic windows?

I don't need and don't particularly want a front panoramic window to look at the sky. I prefer the older design with storage cupboards above our three front windows. I also don't like the new design where some caravans don't have a full gas box at the front. In my old caravan I can put long objects, eg my wooden ramp which is useful when on rallies. Hey Ho, Things move on, but not always for the better. Nuggy
