Winchester Christmas Market 2025, Dampervan Trip
Well, Winchester Morn club site did not disappoint for our final dampervan trip for 2025, despite a horrendous wet and rainy journey on Thursday and setting up the van and awning in heavy rain.
Saturday was a glorious sunny day we caught the bus, which was just a short walk from the site's entrance, into Winchester just before lunch and spent the day wandering around the shops and then the Christmas Market. We had dinner in a lovely Italian restaurant before returning to the Christmas Market, where Myrtle managed not to buy something from every Chalet!!!
Sunday was another sunny day, a little colder than yesterday. We caught the bus back into the City, where we first visited the City Mill (National Trust) and joined the guided talk around the building. The rest of the day was spent wandering around the City and the Cathedral grounds. I was really glad we went to the Christmas Market yesterday, it was heaving, the queue was back around into the main street.
We returned back to the van before it got dark so we could fettle the van and de-rig ready for the journey home tomorrow. Now sat in the van toasty warm now, Myrtle watching the Strictly Come Dancing final, which she was lucky to attend in person in 2016.
Was very impresed with the Winchester Morn site, it is in an ideal location for exploring the City and the wider area. There is a good dog walking area, the facilities are soptless and weel maintained, cannot fault the wardens. Good public transport into Winchester.

Thanks for the report. We have stayed at Morn Hill many times over the years as it was handy for relatives in Southampton. It is a much improved site after the refurbishment.
