We have something exciting that we are creating, and because you are our most engaged members, we want you to be the first to see it.

Meet Lizzie, our newest member of the team, and our new UK Club campsite digital assistant . Lizzie will be available 24/7 to help members with UK Club campsite recommendations.

Using the power of our website search, Lizzie will help you plan your next trip with the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

  • Want to know what Club campsites have great walks nearby? Ask Lizzie.
  • Want to know what Club campsites have a beach nearby? Ask Lizzie.
  • Want to know what Club campsites have a playground? Ask Lizzie.
  • Want to know what Club Campsites in an area have a bus stop? Ask Lizzie.

You get the picture! Lizzie will offer recommendations based on your needs and preferences. She can even calculate the driving distance from your home!

We're introducing Lizzie as we want to help our members who are looking for inspiration and recommendations, and who want to save time researching on the website. She’s ideal if you prefer to call for advice rather than searching online.

But we need your help. Lizzie is in very early stages of development and she needs some support and improvements. At this stage she may make some mistakes and that’s where we need your help, to let us know where she’s great but also where we need to develop her further.

We’re looking for a select and trusted group of members to test out Lizzie before we launch and share this service to the wider membership. You have all been so helpful with constructive feedback in the past on Cub Together and we value your thoughts and opinions. We won't be sharing Lizzie with other members at this stage so this is for our Club Together community only at the moment and I would be so grateful if you can get involved.

You can find out more about Lizzie and how to take part in the testing on the Club website. There is also the opportunity to give us your reviews and feedback via this page where we ask you a few short questions which should take no longer than a couple of minutes.

Thank you so much and we look forward to hearing your feedback.

Is Lizzie a normal price to phone from a mobile? Sorry but it’s the first thing I check when using any service, looks like a landline number, but would be good to make sure. (Excuse my reticence, I once got caught out badly phoning my own bank for help, cost me a lot of money)

Looks like a normal landline number therefore I would expect the cost of calling to be included in most mobile phone contracts. If calling from another landline number there may well be a charge.

@Takethedogalong the number is the same area code as the other CAMC landline numbers, so I would agree with @peedee, it should be included in any mobile phone contract..

    This sounds like AI!

Once again replacing the human contact with some robotic soulless machine!

Hi everyone, as you mention calls to Lizzie will be free on most mobile phones as this is a local tariff telephone number. Calls may be charged if calling from a landline.

Has anyone given Lizzie a call? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Gave it a quick call before Christmas but did not ask any questions as I was rather busy. I did note it asked for my name. I'll try it after New Years day when I should have more time to play around.

Hi from a very cold Southern Spain (its baltic here!)

I have just spent some time trying out Lizzie and she's pretty helpful. I certainly put her to the test and yes it is AI and she definitely needs some refining!

I asked her for a variety of information:

    1. Information about where to stay in The Cotswolds and was given three choices; Bourton-on-the-Water, Cirencester Park and Moreton-in-Marsh, I found it a bit odd that I had to press for more info about the other sites in the area as it missed off Broadway and Burford. I also asked whether any were near train stations and was given information about the nearest (national) railway stations to each site.
    2. Any information about sites in Portugal…..she's not trained for that yet.
    3. A trip to Wales and where to go as I'd like to do some waterski-ing (I was testing her) I was given a choice of sites Freshwater East and Gaer Hyfryd, the latter is over an hour from the coast so it's not really that close for watersports! I also asked if both sites were close to a pub and shops which it said it was, Gaer Hyfryd has the Rhug Estate within a 15min walk which is a bistro/farm shop. Freshwater East has Jacks nearby in another caravan site, but a shop is at least 20 min drive away, so for motorhomers this could be an issue.
    4. I asked about information about insurance and was told to go to KAMC.COM (oops Lizzie!)

Overall I found the information given very good although she did sound a little too "robotish" for my liking and how she constantly kept repeating my name was a bit annoying…….I've decided I'm glad I wasn't called Steve or Peter (thats what i used in testing)

Finally, its the CAMC not the KAMC as she kept saying.

Give her a try, she will definitely not replace our wonderful site teams or contact centre who are full of fantastic information, its the start of your holiday planning 01342 775020

Lizzie is a really cool innovation, even if it is still in its early learning phases as it took a few times to hear my name after repeating it a few times.

I asked Lizzie to find me campsites for a trip I want to do later this year taking in the three peaks (Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis) and it seemed to take on board the pronouncation of Ben Nevis after incorrectly repeating it as Ben NEE-vis on first attempt.

But the accurate information it gave and natural nature of conversation was very impressive and I'm intrigued to see how it develops over the next year or so with more people using it.

    Tbh, @P_Knott, I wouldn’t expect a staff member to say anything else🙂

I’m sure it’s wonderful but let’s make sure everyone is aware of which side of the fence you’re on👍🏻

Hi @Tinwheeler we're asking for staff feedback too because at this stage Lizzie isn't available to the wider membership but we're looking for some trusted members from Club Together and our staff to share their experiences and their thoughts so we can make improvements. At this stage she may make some mistakes and that’s where we need help. As @P _Knott is commenting as staff rather than as a a member he has the staff role assigned which shows on his posts.

Hopefully we can get some more feedback from more members on Club Together as well because constructive feedback is so helpful to us at this phase. 😊

Had a little go a few moments ago. I asked Lizzie for a site in the Cotswolds. I asked for more details on the Broadway site. Lizzie seems good at giving details about the locality, but at present, less details on the site itself. e.g. not able to tell me if there were serviced pitches. Perhaps this might be possible within the fullness of time.

Happy with the results for a new initiative.

    David.

Edit: still waiting for access to fill in the google survey.. 🙂

so just had a little chat with Lizzie, generally it was very factual and when pushed she gave some fairly general information that focused more on the area of the campsites than the campsite themselves.

she couldn’t tell me if the site had serviced pitches but was abit to rattle off all the other types when I asked how many pitches there were on the campsite.

I rang back a second time and asked the same initial question and she gave the same campsites but in a very different style, which I actually preferred (she gave a quick location summery of the 3 sites she suggested)

I agree on the over use of my name, I get it’s trying to be personable, but as humans we don’t really use each others names quick as much in casual conversation.

The tone / sound of her voice changes quite a bit which again is a little off putting and a one point it was like a different “person” said one part of the sentence.

It was easy to use, and the information provided would help someone to understand the campsites available to them.

It might help if she’s suggesting 3 for the area, that she could say however there are (number) others in the area also available.

Lastly a rang to try another area, and sadly but rather humorously she got stuck trying to understand my request for the location Cotswolds.
she told me very emphatically the club don’t have a campsite called cockswells quite a few times.

    🤭😂😂😂😂😂😂
