been planning for months. We don’t normally book for sometime. We have booked a site for March in order to use the free night offer. We know that in April we are going to Cumbria for about 10 days. Route is almost sorted. Some potential sites identified. We will move around, max stay three nights. Then in May we will spend a few days at a THS in Southport. Then after that there is a stop in Lincolnshire and a few days in Northumberland. It is really annoying there is no central list yet of CAMC rallies, so are looking at CCC and Motorcaravanners lists.

Have some plans so far although nothing booked yet. We plan to start the year with a weekend at Strathclyde Park in February making use of the free night voucher. Then in March we would like to do a week or so at Chester with a stop in at Blackpool for a couple of nights in the way home. May we might do a site in the North East for a week or so then our main summer holiday we are planning on Devon although that depends on how the progress is going at Hillhead if it opens on time etc. if not Devon may do the Isle of Wight or Kent Apart from that just weekends and long weekends hopefully with a 19 day trip later on in the winter

I got into the habit of booking a year in advance as I taught and had to work around term times. As I was booking a long French summer break this also meant getting a crossing at a good price.
I've stayed with this approach and have had my long breaks into Europe fully booked for a couple of weeks.
We have a caravan and do not like "touring" or hoping from site to site. 10 days or so in one place gives us time to settle and visit an area in some depth. So that's 5 sites and 4 crossings along with Red Pennant.
One of our 2026 sites was booked in August this year, along with our visit to the same site in 2027 as riverside pitches go quickly and we like to catch up with old friends at a set time each year.
I use a mix of booking methods, some direct with ferry operators/Eurotunnel, some with the C&MC. My site bookings are the same, some direct, some through ACSI and some with the club. There is no "one stop shop" that offers the best price so I spend some time seeing who has the best options on offer.
For shorter stays of 3 or 4 days in the UK I'm not rigid. These short trips are usually only booked at fairly short notice, to take advantage of good weather or the chance to meet up with friends.
For 2027 we have very brief plans already. We know the European dates and have started looking at areas to visit. When away next summer we'll run ideas by friends we catch up with for recommendations and advice.
I know others have a different approach, but this method works well for us.

Apart from our visits to the Scilly Isles where accommodation really is scarce we have never booked accommodation in advance - not at campsites, hotels, or guest houses - and not in any of the many overseas countries we have been to. - perhaps a phone call the day or so beforehand but no more than that.

Next year we have a commitment to attend one of my grandchild's wedding, yet to book a site to stay on, other than that we have had a few thoughts about touring in France but no commitments. We usually only make firm plans after Christmas unless we are going on long winter trips and then I will only book sites if absolutely necessary. Touring in UK is usually very ad hoc.

We usually wait until the CAMC rally lists come out, select and book what we fancy then plan our trips around them whether it's North or South.

Yes, very good CAMC for putting in a raft of proposed discounts for various seasons in 2026. I speak as one who made use of a couple of free nights this year, although I did have to cancel one.
However there are bound to be a significant number of members who are not able to make commitments so far in advance. We have a problem committing to dates in '26 as we need to rely on carers coming to look after my Mother-in-law and they don't work to the same forward planning as CAMC does. We have been fortunate this year in that any long term commitment to booking a stay on sites has been met with the ability to procure carer service. We can't be the only ones in that position and I'm sure there are those who are not able to make commitments due to work schedules, hospital appointments, caring duties etc.
I always thought Dynamic pricing worked both ways. That is, the club sets a higher figure when they know from previous occupancy rates that a site will be virtually full, if not full. So why don't we see last minute deals for pitches, particularly outside of high season, on sites that are maybe half empty? Yes, rates are set lower than high season rates but there is no movement in them on a daily basis. Does the club prefer to see half full sites say in October rather than try to entice more members onto site? I can see a problem in making sure those who have already committed feeling aggrieved at paying a higher price but doesn't that work the same in other aspects of life. A lot of people are currently buying Christmas gifts. High season for shops but January is another kettle of fish hence the January sales. It's tough to find that Christmas present is now 25% cheaper but we accept it as we know the score.
Just a thought for those who cannot make commitments for 2026.

@Wherenext we are in exactly the same position, cannot book ahead, so the offers, nice though they are, have not worked for us. Hence, we didn’t rejoin last year. It’s not a problem, there are lots of other options for short term breaks, like the one we are enjoying now. (Cottage for £230, right where we want to enjoy ourselves). Last minute bargain for a week, it simply wasn’t worth using the MH. Furthest we have been out in the car is 20 miles, we have so much to enjoy within 5 miles.

We don't normally start planning our next trip before we have completed the one we are currently on. However to take advantage of next year's early free night on a club site, which we like to use on a site we have not visited before, and which has to be booked before the end of this month, we are intending to plan an early trip to Yorkshire most likely, taking in a couple of club sites. There is the possibility of a hospital visit so plans may have to change that being the case, but we will see.
