Korando C300 for towing

Hi

I see they promote the 1.6 Pioneer model for towing. Anyone with experience of one and what weight do they tow. Ssangyong still say up to 2000 kg but what is it like in practice. Looking at changing up from mt 2.0 SE Korando which is brilliant.

    The usual rule of thumb is 85% of the weight of the car- so towing about 1450 kg sounds reasonable.

    The latest model Korando has a towing limit of 1500kg, goes my Xplore 422 (upgraded 1200kg) a dream. Fuel economy about half when towing.

    Just been comparing using Parkers guide

    Our existing Korando AWD 2.0 1747 KG 85% 1484 kg Torque 360 Nm 266 ft-lb/ 146 BHP

    1.6 C300 newer AWD korando Weight1704 85% 1448 kg Torque 324 Nm 329 ft- lb 134 BHP

    So the 1.6 looks promising but a little less power. At present I always feel i have to watch my foot on the accelerator so as not go too fast. Just the very steep hills and steep hill starts which at present not a problem.

    SsangYong still quote 2000 kg for max tow weight
