Is the A4212 from Bala towards Ffestiniog an acceptable roadfor towing or is there a better route ?

I have not been to North Wales for years but I am planning a trip to the area around Criccieth in July 2026. Can anyone advise on an acceptable towing route from about Shrewsbury. I had thought of using the A5 to Corwen then onto Bala and then the A4212 but is the A4212 ok for towing ?

    You would certainly be ok on the A5 and the A494 to Bala. I have not driven the A4212 for some years but it is a major road and checking on google street view, it should be fine.

    We went that way earlier this year but in a campervan but have done it with a caravan. Didn't have any problems.

    Can recommend the CL at Llanystumdwy, Penrallt Bach.
